Laura and her staff are incredible! Great communication and very personable. The cabins have everything you need while making you feel like you've stepped back in time.

Visiting family in McCarthy

When a late breakup meant a “puddle” the size of a pond you could canoe across (yes, seriously) meant his old lady couldn’t traverse the trail to my sons cabin Mary provided last minute accommodations for a few days . The cabin was cozy, stocked with all the basics, the bed extremely comfortable, and the heater easy to operate and took the chill out of the early season nights. The shower was hot and private. I loved that dogs were welcome on a leash and guests were ell behaved. Staff was incredibly helpful and kind! (Special thanks to Will for helping me unload!). Mary is the sweetest and funniest host! (Mary please consider rehiring me in the future). Best of all it’s quiet with beautiful view but an easy walk or shuttle ride to town and all the action! HIGHLY recommend!!!

Stay here! Look no further!

As a local Alaskan I have stayed in the Mccarthy area several times, always at a different property or lodge. Some accross the foot bridge, some on the road side. After staying at Blackburn Cabins this past week, I will not stay anywhere else in the future! The cabins are wonderfully quaint and well maintained and yet you feel like you stepped back in time 100 years. The coffee was great, beds comfy, outhouses easy, and the shower house looked amazing. More importantly the 2 ladies that helped me out during my stay were the kindest most helpful folks that I have encountered in this area of Alaska!

Exceeded all expectations

Stayed at Blackburn Cabins for two nights and loved every part of our stay! The cabin was authentic Alaska. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Well appointed kitchen including coffee and fresh water. The outhouse was clean. We didn’t use the shower, but it looked great and had hot water. From the moment we booked to the time we left they were extremely responsive whether via email or phone. The shuttle system within the area was great! The town has the most laid back, friendly atmosphere of anywhere we’ve visited in Alaska. The views and the drive in were spectacular. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to staying at Blackburn again. Also planning to bring family here when they visit us in Alaska. Look no further than Blackburn if you want to really experience Alaska!

Wild Alaska

We stayed 2 nights in a cabin for 4 people: the outdoor showers with hot water are great, inside the cabin there is both a sink with running water and a gas stove, as well as a propane stove. The shared outdoor bathroom is very wild. Excellent shuttle Service to and from the pedestrian bridge. In general the park is beautiful but has a certain complexity partially solved by the internal shuttles
