Koa Lagoon isn't fancy. Use the shopping cart to drag up your luggage. Our unit had everything you need if you want to cook. Pool is nice, don't mind the concrete wall around it. Bbq away. Why you really should go? It's pure oceanfront. Grass area oceanside if you have kids that need to run free. The other excellent thing about it is Linda. No one will take better care of you than her.

Unit #106 KOA LAGOON - great place to stay

After never utilizing a VRBO type rental before, ve settled on Koa Lagoon for our family vacation. Yes , three failings, three rooms. Right from the start, Linda was more than accommodating and helpful alleviating our fears. Everything had been great- we will definitely stay here again, when we return. Parts of the decor are a little dated perhaps, but fine for a vacation rental. The wield key vault on our door is sketchy, but old and seems to work fine, one you figure it out. The kitchen seems to b3 the most updated area, the bath could use it the most- perhaps ditch the dated tub/ swower combo amend go to a stand up shower , at least that’s my preference. I’ve had worse experiences with branded hotels on the mainland. It’s not the Ritz, ,bu5 you4 ni5 paying for it either. Ample parking too. One thing tho ,although the ground floor units are very convenient, if you are addicted to whale watching ,as we are, best to choose an upper level room. One families room is on for two and the other on floor 5. Obviously floor 5 affords much better whale action, floor 2 isn’t too bad. We’ve already decided that when we return, we’ll opt for a 2 bedroom unit on one of the-top two floors- even if you don’t need the extra bedroom, it’s worht a lot just to have extra space to knock around in, and it’s not that much more. The general location is great also. Just a short drive to all of the tourists places and beaches in Kihei, or head the way toward Lasaina and find lots of other restaurants and shops also. Remember Lahaina itself is bacically closed due to the horrendous fire last year, but places are open both before and after. Overall a nice place , that’s safe , not real congested, located conveniently, and is RIGHT ON THE BEACH! You’ll be hard pressed to find an place that will service you better.

Unit 506-mixed reviews, 3.5 stars.

Stayed in unit 506 for a "girls'" vacation with my adult daughter. All units have full oceanfront views, there is footpath access to a semi-secluded mixed sand/rock beach adjacent to the property. Upper floors have spacious covered balconies for al fresco dining even if it rains, spectacular views,& storage of beach gear. Great location- an easy 5 minute drive into Kihei town for many restaurants, groceries, pharmacy, & gear rental shops. Living/dining area has a gorgeous wall of sliding patio doors to the balcony, and a full ocean view within the unit. Living area has a large L-shaped sectional sleeper sofa, very comfortable seating & also for sleeping even without unfolding the bed frame. Kitchen is small but efficient & adequately equipped, appliances are new & clean, but cabinetry is dated. There is a small stacked washer/dryer, which allowed for lighter packing. Flooring in hall & living room/dining room/kitchen is a nice laminate with a new area rug. Bathroom is small, very outdated, clean but with visible rust stains & ancient cabinetry. Bedroom carpet was stained & dingy. Pillows were flat & a lumpy polyester fill, not acceptable at this price point, we slept out on the sofa & used the firmer sofa pillows covered with a towel. Loved hearing the waves at night on the sofa! The bedroom faces Kihei Road & may have some traffic noise, we didn't sleep in that room. Linen closet had both 4 bath towels & 4 beach towels, & beach toys for kids. The balcony had a nice outdoor dining table for 4, an outdoor carpet, a comfy recliner lounge chair, beach chairs, & a boogie board. Water pressure in the shower was excellent, no exhaust fan, water heater in unit is small so hot water ran out after 1'st person's shower. This unit was the perfect size for 2 people, would feel crowded with 3-4 people (unless they were small children). We had a great time, would return to this building, might prefer a more updated unit, adequate unit for a casual family/friends trip, but not the vibe for a romantic or luxury experience.

Oceanfront condo at a reasonable price

We stayed in a sixth floor condo at the Koa Lagoon. The view was beautiful! We ate breakfast and dinner on the lanai nearly every day. The unit had a well equipped kitchen. There were air conditioners and ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. Road noise was minimal even though we were on Kihei Road. We could hear the surf from the living room and lanai. The pool was never crowded.
If the Koa Lagoon had a restaurant and live music, we would never have left the property!

COVID 19

COVID ALLERT!!
Me and my entire family got sick, yes we got COVID on Koa Lagoon #406.
It was not clean. Sofa was smelling so bad that God knows when was the last time they washed the sofa covers, and we checked the covers so the covers are removable, so easy to wash. I called them to report that we have Covid in this apartment, no one answered and nobody returned our calls. We did not want next guests after us getting sick too. After we came home they send us an email asking for a five star review to post online. And email said if we were not satisfied tell us. I responded to email saying that we got sick in the apartment no one responded. I decided to call them , I talked to three different people from this company one of them said he was the property manager, he did not even apologize or even bother to ask which apartment we stayed in. we did not enjoy our vacation, entire family was dealing with Covid. Nobody from this company cared, give a crap. We are so sorry that we couldn’t prevent next guest checking in to the same apartment because of the greediness and carelessness of this company’s employees that I talked to.
