A lot to say!

We travelled as a mum and five-year-old son, just the two of us.
My son has food allergies, so I contacted the hotel before travelling. Reception weren’t particularly clear on the arrangements when we arrived, but we were referred to Marisa, the restaurant Maître d’, who was fantastic. We completed an allergy form and food could be specially prepared for him at each meal to minimise cross-contamination. She’s bilingual too, which made communication really easy and reassuring.
Rooms: Spacious and comfortable. We’d booked a double as my son co-sleeps with me, but had two singles pushed together on VERY mobile castors! They regularly rolled apart, so check the configuration if a double is important.
The bathroom is very open-plan, with the sink in the bedroom and frosted sliding doors separating the toilet and shower. Perhaps not ideal if you’re sharing with someone you aren’t particularly close to! There’s also very little space around the sink for toiletries.
Pools: A HUGE positive in August — no sunbed wars! We could find beds around all three pools throughout the day and the water temperature was lovely.
Be aware that the main pools are unusually deep. There’s a small children’s pool under 1m, but the others start around 1.4m with some areas over 2.5m. Fine for confident swimmers, but not much shallow water for younger children.
Food: Buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner with a decent selection and we always found something good to eat. There’s also a daytime snack bar serving things like burgers, chips and pastries.
Kids & entertainment: This was probably the weakest area for us. The kids’ club didn’t seem to follow the advertised schedule particularly closely and there didn’t appear to be much going on, so my son wasn’t interested in attending. There is a mini disco every evening — very much the familiar Spanish-hotel mini disco with all the same songs you’ll recognise if you’ve travelled with children before!
Location: The beach at Es Port d’Es Torrent is an easy 5–7 minute walk straight down the road. There’s also a bus stop very close to the hotel and reception can arrange taxis or car hire.
Overall: Would we return? Yes, if we found a great deal. Now that we know exactly what to expect, we’d happily stay again. It isn’t perfect, particularly for us in terms of the kids’ club, but we had a comfortable stay, enjoyed the pools and food, and the location is convenient for the beach.

Dear Laura,
Thank you for writing a review.
We are delighted that you and your son had a comfortable stay with us and that you found your room spacious and welcoming. It is wonderful to hear that Marisa made such a positive impression with her attentive allergy support, helping to arrange specially prepared meals so you could both dine with peace of mind. We are also pleased that you enjoyed our buffet and snack bar offerings, and that the pools provided a relaxing escape without any rush for sunbeds.
That said, we are sincerely sorry that some aspects of your stay did not fully meet your expectations. We understand that the bed arrangement was not ideal for your needs, and we regret any inconvenience this caused. The open-plan bathroom design is a feature of our B-Room concept, though we appreciate it may not suit every guest's preference. We also note your observations about the children's entertainment schedule and the limited shallow water areas, and we value your honest perspective on these points.
Nonetheless, we are so glad that our high cleanliness standards stood out to you, reflected in your perfect rating. Finally, the short walk to Port des Torrent beach and the convenient transport links nearby made it easy for you to explore the area, which is something we love for our guests.
We hope to see you again soon.
Best regards,
Guest Experience Manager

Week away in Ibiza ️

Lovely week in the sunshine ☀️ hotel is in great location to explore the island ️ lovely beach nearby.. with a water taxi over to San Antonio. And Ibiza town only 30 mins away. Spotlessly clean rooms and the entertainment team are fab! Restaurant really lets this place down.. very limited choice, like warm and tables constantly dirty.

Overall a good hotel- some minor improvements to make feel like a 4 star stay

This hotel was good overall. However for the cost I would have expected a little more in terms of the rooms in particular. Maybe we were unlucky, but we had very little space to store our toiletries and clothes - there nothing in the way of a dresser and two very small bedside tables, I found myself trying to get ready with everything balancing on the edges of the sink - often falling in the sink or off it.
We had a tree blocking our balcony so our room was also really dark. I upgraded to pay for superior family adjoining rooms so expected a nicer location. Some people don’t mind really basic rooms but as this is a 4 star the rooms were definitely more 3 star level. Our hallway and doors also needed a little tlc in terms of a little brighten up to take marks off the doors and walls.
Reception staff seemed a little blunt and irritable when I had a query, but to be fair, they always seemed very busy.
However - the pool area is really nice though small and plenty of beds. The entertainment team worked really hard and were really friendly every day - a huge plus for the hotel by far!
As others have said, not a huge amount to do around the hotel but a lovely beach in short distance. Hard to get anywhere else you needed to take the bus as taxi were unreliable with it being August. I would suspect in quieter months the location wouldn’t be an issue.
There was lots of food choice from the restaurant- typical buffet food as you would expect from an all inclusive so no complaints. Snack bar was well stocked all day and much better than other hotels I have visited with drinks on tap so that you could help yourself.
All in all I’d probably stay here again but some room improvements could help the stay feel a little more comfortable and more 4 star level.

Dear Caroline,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are delighted that you found the pool area so pleasant and that the entertainment team made such a positive impression on your stay. It is wonderful to hear that their friendliness and hard work stood out as a highlight.
That said, we are sincerely sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Your comments about the room layout and the upkeep of the hallway have been noted, and we regret that these details affected your comfort. Our family rooms are designed to offer spacious and well-equipped accommodation, and we are sorry if the configuration of your particular room felt more limited. The reception team is always available to assist with any concerns, and we apologise if they came across as less attentive than they should have during a busy period. We also understand that getting around in August can be challenging when taxis are in high demand.
Nonetheless, it is a pleasure to know that the dining selection and the snack bar left such a good impression, and we are glad you enjoyed the convenience of the self-service drinks. Finally, the proximity of the lovely nearby beach is certainly a wonderful asset, and we are pleased it added to your experience.
We look forward to the pleasure of seeing you again in the future.
Best regards,

More like a 3-star budget hotel than a 4-star

We recently stayed at the Occidental Ibiza and, unfortunately, our overall experience fell short of what we would expect from a 4-star hotel. In my opinion, this is much more of a 3-star budget hotel than a 4-star property. There are certainly some positives, but there are also a number of areas that need significant improvement.
The positives:
The hotel is approximately a 5-minute walk from a lovely sandy beach, with some great beach bars and restaurants serving really nice food and drinks. Despite visiting in August, we were pleasantly surprised that there were no sunbed wars, and we were able to find a space throughout the day, which was a definite bonus.
The negatives:
There isn’t a huge amount to see or do in the immediate surrounding area, so I would recommend considering this when booking.
Unfortunately, we found the cleanliness and general upkeep of the hotel disappointing. The rooms weren’t particularly clean, and the cups provided in our room were dirty. The bedside units were also damaged, and the toilet flush repeatedly came apart, meaning you had to hold it down and push it back into place to stop it flushing.
The toilets around the hotel were another concern. The reception toilets are also used by people coming from the pool area, and they were therefore not particularly pleasant. The toilets between blocks 2 and 3 were especially poor — only one of the doors actually closed properly, the others didn’t lock or close, the lights weren’t working, and there was no way to dry your hands.
We also experienced intermittent power cuts, which meant we lost air conditioning and hot water at times, as well as being unable to use the drinks pumps. Obviously, some of this may have been outside of the hotel’s control, but it did impact our stay.
The snack bar is a good idea and provides food throughout the day, mainly consisting of burgers, hot dogs, chips, crisps and other typical snack-bar food. However, we noticed that the food was left uncovered, with flies around it, which wasn’t particularly appealing or reassuring from a hygiene perspective. The surrounding area also looked quite unkempt.
The main restaurant was extremely warm, with the air conditioning seemingly not working properly. There was a reasonable variety of food, and if you’re not a particularly fussy eater, you’ll probably find something you like. However, we found the food was often only warm or, on occasions, cold. The restaurant itself also didn’t feel particularly clean, with lots of plates and cups left uncleared from tables.
Another thing worth noting is the safe charge. You have to pay a €20 deposit to use the safe, followed by €3 per day. Personally, I found this unusual for a hotel advertised as 4-star.
Overall, the hotel feels very dated and in need of a significant refurbishment. There were numerous signs of general wear and tear throughout the property, and the standard of upkeep didn’t feel consistent with what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, I personally wouldn’t stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for a 4-star hotel. That said, if your priority is simply finding a budget-friendly hotel within a short walk of a lovely beach, and you’re willing to overlook the dated facilities and cleanliness/maintenance issues, then it may suit you.
For us, however, the overall experience didn’t meet the standard we expected from a 4-star Occidental hotel.

Dear Guest,
We appreciate you sharing your perspective with us.
We are delighted that you enjoyed the short stroll to the lovely sandy beach and that you found the sunbed situation pleasantly relaxed even during the busy month of August.
That said, we are sincerely sorry that several aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. We regret the shortcomings you noticed in your accommodation, the communal facilities and the dining areas. Our team is always on hand to address any concerns as they arise, and we would have welcomed the opportunity to assist with the matters you raised during your time with us. Cleanliness and upkeep are priorities we take seriously, and your observations have been noted for careful review. The intermittent power supply you experienced was indeed unfortunate, and while such events can occasionally occur beyond our direct control, we understand how disruptive they must have been.
Nonetheless, it is pleasing to know that our location so close to Port des Torrent beach added a genuine highlight to your holiday.
Thank you again; it would be a pleasure to have you return.
Best wishes,

Needs some TLC but not horrible

I would like to preface this review with saying that I had read previous reviews which really put me off coming but actually I was pleasantly surprised!
The hotel itself is a budget hotel so manage your expectations if you expectations of you are expecting 4* throughout its more like a 3* with some 4* elements.
I’ll set into pro and cons
Pros
Sunbeds are plentiful and always found a sunbed without having to get up at stupid times.
Staff were always so friendly at the bars and restaurants, the animation team were great as well! Ryan was very animated and fun.
Pools were nice and big with plenty of room to swim or play. We spent a fair amount of time in the pool on this holiday
Air con in the room was decent, it could still get a bit warm overnight but in general it worked and helped with it being sooooo hot the week we arrived and stayed , I would still recommend a small fan you can run overnight as it wasn’t cold all the time
Snack bar - fantastic for a quick snack or a lunch if you didn’t want to use the main restaurant, there were burgers and hotdogs, chips most days , nachos, toasties with some pastries and fruit too .
Serve your own soft drinks and beers- saved time queuing at the bar as you only needed to do that for cocktails and spirits with mixers
Area - small area nearby a few shops and restaurants and a beach nearby which you can watch a sunset from. We visited Nora beach for dinner and I would recommend , you can also get a water taxi to San Antonio which again would recommend
Neutral
Power cut one day meant no air con or water at all for a few hours, luckily it wasn’t all day so we stayed at the pool but it did mean lights went out and drinks machines stopped working as well for a while which was challenging
Food, if you have fussy eaters you may find some people won’t like the food , I did enjoy most of the times I ate there as I’m not fussy but sometimes it was just under lukewarm and nearly cold so they do have a microwave if you need it.
Cons
Rooms were very dated, inside our wardrobe was really broken and warped by heat. Not ascetically pleasing at all. Also the rails for clothes didn’t seem to think about long dresses or shirts as there was a shelf below. Balcony towel rail was held on my selotape. Balcony had air con unit on and was so small you couldn’t sit out as it was blowing hot air.
Fridge in the room had a very strange smell like pickles.
Air con in restaurant - non existent and it was very warm week. I had to take an electric handheld fan in with me as otherwise it was just too hot to be comfortable to eat
Cleaning- not thorough in the rooms, bins not always emptied, sheets had a stain one day on them. A cup wasn’t cleared away for a few days.
Safe- 20 euro deposit and 3 euros a day to use . Normally a 4* this would be included.
I wouldn’t return personally however I do believe that this hotel will be somewhere that people could enjoy to stay with the pros

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
We are delighted that your experience with our team members, especially the animation team, was uplifting. Your recognition of our colleagues' helpfulness at the bars and restaurants means a great deal to us. It is also gratifying to know you enjoyed relaxing by our spacious pools and took advantage of the sunbeds. The convenience of our snack bar and the option for self-service beverages contributed positively to your stay.
However, we are sincerely sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Your feedback about the state of the accommodation, the air circulation in the restaurant, housekeeping standards and the temporary interruption of facilities has our full attention. We also regret that the arrangements for the safe did not meet your preferences.
Nonetheless, we are glad you took pleasure in our proximity to local shops and beautiful beaches. Enjoyable excursions, such as the sunset at Nora beach and the water taxi to San Antonio, sound like highlights from your time with us.
We hope to welcome you back.
