Mi hotel de confianza en Madrid/ My go-to hotel in Madrid
Ya he visitado Madrid en varias ocasiones y el Hotel Puerta América se ha convertido, sin duda, en mi opción de referencia. Cada vez que vuelvo, confirmo por qué lo sigo eligiendo.
Ubicación conveniente: Tiene una conectividad fantástica para moverte por la ciudad sin complicaciones, ideal tanto para viajes de placer como de negocios.
Limpieza impecable: Mantienen unos estándares altísimos. Todo se siente fresco, pulcro y extremadamente cuidado desde que cruzas la puerta.
Habitaciones comodísimas: El descanso esta garantizado. Las camas son un lujo y el diseño único de las habitaciones hace que cada estancia se sienta como una experiencia nueva.
Instalaciones inmejorables: Desde sus áreas comunes hasta sus vistas, el hotel es una obra de arte arquitectónica con servicios de primer nivel.
Personal excepcional: Lo mejor de todo es el equipo. Siempre son amables, profesionales y están encantados de ayudar con una sonrisa, haciéndote sentir como en casa.

Particularly disappointing
In many ways we have had a very disappointing experience.
Check-in was done by a surly woman who actually spoke no English. We stayed on the 11th floor, in a suite that was really too ugly to rent out. A really bad 60’s vibe. Showering in the bath, small grubby tiles and stains everywhere on the wall.
I couldn't fit under the rain shower head that was stuck at 170 cm height, so I showered sitting down!
Beds were okay.
Breakfast was really bad, a kind of cheap eating shed with people walking at the buffet. Bake croissants if you were lucky, and no cottage cheese or yogurt!
Muesli in cardboard boxes and plastic, bad. Limited fresh fruit and the coffee is not to drink.
We looked at the mini pool, but the water turned out to be freezing cold, which is why no one went in. And that while it was 37 degrees outside, almost handsome!
All in all a very bad experience for a stay of 500 euros per night in a suite of a 5 star hotel.

Not recommended
Hotel far from the center, reachable by metro in 40 minutes, plus about ten minutes on foot to get to the metro station. Otherwise, Uber or taxi, which still take about twenty minutes and have a cost. It is labeled as a 5-star hotel, but it does not deserve all of them. My room (a suite) was on the 11th floor. Many Ikea-style furniture (too many) that one does not know what to do with, shampoo and bath foam in plastic containers, absence of a room service menu and a laundry price list. The staff at the reception, particularly Franco and Arianna, were extremely kind. In short, a hotel suitable for groups that arrive, sleep, have breakfast, and then leave by bus, not for those who want to visit Madrid.

Superb hotel with really pleasant and attentive staff.
Easy location from the airport bus 200. Nice pool and magnificent room.

For some reason I missed to book breakfast, which I always do. Flabbergasted that they wanted 30€ per person for breakfast which I think is a rather ludicrius price.
