Horror at Parador Lleida

I wish to register an EXTREME complaint.
Last night I was stuck in the lift on my own for over 20 minutes. It was over 40 centigrade outside and there was no aircon in the lift. I pressed the emergency button ( obv) many many times with no response. I banged on the door and screamed help. An automated voice said ‘ maintenance has been called’ no one from the hotel knew this or came to help me. I am 70 with claustrophobia… i have various physical problems….
After 20 minutes a German fellow guest/ tourist manhandled the lift doors ( i was still on the ground floor but did not know this) and physically managed to prise the doors open….
There was no manager, nor any procedure in place, thank God there was an angel of a receptionist who offered me a glass of wine and a hug. It was truly an horrific experience , health and safety at the great Parador hotels was non existent , and this on the eclipse while the hotel was 100 % full ….

Nice hotel in poor neighborhood

Beautifully restored building with large spaces, beautiful lobby and spacious modern rooms. Oddly enough, in the spacious room there was a bathtub and the smallest possible shower cabin. But otherwise excellent, the A/C also worked perfectly. Unfortunately there is little else to do, the ‘historic center’ in which the hotel is located is a rather poor neighborhood, (where we did not feel unsafe for a moment). We went to one of the excellent restaurants in the area for dinner.

An oasis.

A great choice to pick the parador for our one-day stay in Lleida. The heat was unbearable in the city and thanks to the hotel's facilities, we were able to enjoy a day of tranquility. Reception and service perfect, spacious room, very clean. Large bathroom, with everything necessary. All services impeccable. Zero noise level. Restaurant and cafeteria service excellent. Without a doubt we would stay at this hotel again. Thank you.

It's a brisk walk (15 min) from the train station and a short (uphill) walk from the main shopping street. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was awesome. I highly recommend!
