Clean comfortable apartment a few minutes walk from Canyamel beach. Two pool areas which were well maintained. I found the communication with host not ideal often didn’t get a reply from a call or text until the next day. Other than that great value for the area!

The comment I wish I had read before booking.
We arrived and the first thing we found was cold running water, the room full of ants, and it even had mold. The refrigerator freezer didn't work and, on top of that, it was leaking water.
Water was also leaking from under the shower and flooding the bathroom, and towels were changed once every three days (which is abnormal, considering we are at a beach and people wash themselves).
The cleaning was terrible; we had to tell them to clean after three days because no one came, and it was also cleaned poorly, because after three days one expects a good cleaning and instead...
It wasn't just our room that was dirty, but the property in general was not very clean; the cleaning staff were lazy and did not clean properly (we saw them cleaning the floor with a mop and using the same one to clean the small sofas where guests sat). Dead insects everywhere that had been there all week; we saw their entire decomposition.
We asked for a late check-out by a few hours and had to pay extra for it, and even ONLY in cash, which, if it had been legitimate, could have easily been paid by card as well. Furthermore, the place is far from everything, very inconvenient! 1000 euros for a week paid a year in advance to get these services, is this supposed to be a 4-star hotel?
What can I say... definitely not going back.

Idyllic apartment complex / Absolutely recommended
Great run apartment hotel. It invites you to feel good. Elvira the hotel boss of the house is absolutely committed to giving you a great stay. Thanks for everything!

All wonderful, relaxing and quiet !
It was all wonderful. Very friendly and personal care by Elvira the boss . We felt incredibly comfortable. It was very quiet and relaxing there . All guests in these 4 houses are looking for peace and quiet - this is very pleasant. Through the 3 pools everything spreads and there are no sunbed problems.
We will be back next year.

Bedbugs and appalling treatment by managers... disgusted and still itchy :(
Cons: Bedbugs. Stayed 7 nights. Got bitten on my arm the first night, trunk the second night, neck, legs, and feet the third and fourth night. Bites showed up also on the last day? I waited 4 nights to make sure because it's a nice looking place and the managers seemed nice at first, but I was getting new, very itchy bites every morning when I woke up before going out for the day and had 3 more nights to go! I did not have windows or doors open at night since I use AC so could not have been mosquitos.
Complained to the managers, Xisco and Laura, who said it must be mosquitos and claimed that their mattresses were new and with mattress protectors. The mattresses were neither new nor covered. They replaced the mattresses with actual new mattresses (in plastic packaging) and bedding the day of the complaint.
On the 6th night, I did actually get bitten by mosquitoes outside at a restaurant during dinner. I could see the mosquitoes and could tell that my body reacted completely differently to the mosquito bites since they went away after a few hours, while I still have the bedbug bites from the first night 7 nights later.
At check out today, I asked for a discount to my stay due to the poor experience. I have stayed in many hotels and airbnbs around the world and have never had or made any complaints or experienced this before. I did not ask for a full refund because I know it's been a tough year for hospitality businesses, but I think it's only fair to provide some act of goodwill since no hotel guest should go through something like this. I also did not want to write a negative review since I understand the impact this can have on businesses and they seemed like nice people.
Unfortunately, they denied my claims and then accused me of being the kind of guest that would go complaining without reason to save money! They further insulted me by saying I was complaining because I didn't have any money, and then both started YELLING at me in front of other guests. Laura slapped her hands at me and Xisco pointed at the door and told me that was the way out. This is not how any guest should be treated. I am appalled and will be making a formal complaint to booking.com where I made the reservation. If this ever happens to you in Spain, you must demand a "hoja de reclamaciones" on site so that you can file a complaint with the local authorities.
