Nice and cozy

Very nice and cozy hotel, with decor that mixes the minimalist with the antiques. Very well located in the center of town and on the Camino de Santiago. Bar downstairs for breakfast and also for drink with gift skewer. Very friendly staff. All very clean. Impeccable.

Lovely place, sharing a room something to think about

Nice hotel and modern room for our Camino Frances. We are two friends who decided to share a room. Much to our surprise, the shower is in the room facing the bed with glass doors! You’d better not be modest if you want to share a room! Nice dinner and breakfast in the morning.

Lovely accommodation and excellent food

The friendly, customer focused host and his sister were lovely. We’d love to come back after the Camino. The room under the roof was large with screens to keep it dark for sleeping. The meals were typical regional style and delicious

Beautiful and quiet

We truly enjoyed our night at this hotel. We stayed here during our walk on the camino. The staff were super nice and helpful. The restaurant was closed on the Monday night but the next morning they opened up early to serve us breakfast. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the rooftop window that we kept open all night.

Good room, nice local place with antiques and charm, but......

Maybe it was slogging through the rain all day alone. Maybe it was the interminable walk into the town with no signage toward this rather prominent place in town. Maybe it was the odd feel of the town itself down block after block of strange wild-west-like structures - I don't know. But I just couldn't warm up to any of it. It was the feast of Corpus Christo and the whole town was out in the bars when I arrived, making getting checked in at the busy bar and getting through the crowded bar itself a challenge. I had wanted to pay so could leave early the next morning, but the staff wanted to show me how to get up to the room first and getting BACK through the packed bar was impossible. As seems to be the case everywhere, there is no printed information in the rooms even in Spanish. There may have been other peregrinos there somewhere, but it seemed overwhelmingly local. I begged the basic dinner information via Google translate from the wait staff in the second floor dining room that wouldn't open until much later. Since the downstairs bar was bursting at the seams and there were no tables (and for some reason it seems like women aren't supposed to sit at the bars in Spain - I never saw women doing this anywhere in Spain in two month-long trips on the Camino and when I tried to sit at one, invariably I was redirected to a table), I went out into the town into another place full of locals and sat down - no menu and after sitting there for perhaps 10 minutes as the waiter flew around trying to get people taken care of, I left. The very same thing happened at the next restaurant I stopped into. I gave up and went back to the hotel bar (restaurant) and although sat down at the bar, was shown to a little table half-blocking the busy exit where the bar staff ran in and out with drinks and food. Having been sick, I wanted some hot soup, but was told this was not possible without ordering from the other categories on the menu del dia, which I didn't want, so I ordered the croquetas casera because they are sometimes good and they are served hot. What I got literally had frozen chunks in them. I ate half anyway and went to the room to wait for time to leave the next morning. The bed was very comfortable and the room was done in a sleek, monochrome white style.
They did have a lovely glassed-in porch off the room which was good for drying clothes in the sun when it finally came out. The next morning I wanted to leave early as had a long way to go, but at 0715 (late by peregrino standards), the staff hadn't arrived and the person cleaning indicated that I should wait. When the bar staff arrived, the person cleaning told her I was waiting to check out, but she continued to go about setting up breakfast even though I was standing there with my payment. It turned out they needed something for the cash register, but there was no attempt to explain. So I waited and waited and maybe 30 minutes later succeeded in getting out of there. The next day's walk is lovely, so if I pass that way again, I would stay at the nice-looking albergue at the exit from the town.
