Never again!

The pictures of rooms and decor on booking websites does not match the reality.
Incredibly dirty hotel. Smell of cat in the common areas, and is generally really dirty. Located on top of a horse stable, down a small alley. (The same alley use the horses use to going to the stable)
Totally useless roof terrace, without chairs and tables. Breakfast was 1 pancake, 1 small triangular cheese and 1 cup of tea. Dirty cups and plates too..
The handle for the toilet was broken in the 4 days we stayed there, and was not repaired. The toilet seat was also damaged the whole stay.
We booked a luxury room with double beds, and dining section ... We got a small tiny room with 1 bed, and 1 chair.
Pointed out all of this at check out, and got told we just could make a review of the place...so here you go.

Come as a guest. Leave as family

I tried this hotel because I enjoyed its sister inn empire desert storm so much. The view here is great. U can go to the rooftop and enjoy the peace and quiet while looking at the pyramids.
Hospitality by management and staff is excellent. Very helpful and look after your needs. So much so that by the end of your stay you feel more like family than a guest.
Running hot water. English speaking staff. Breakfast included. Right by stables making horseback riding very easy. Short walk to pyramids entrance. Close to Pizza Hut and KFC. I highly recommend.

A Hidden Gem

One cannot experience the authentic joy of Egyptian hospitality like in 'Pyramids Village Inn'. It's somewhat hidden in the outermost corner of the tourist area, but once you find it it's such a charmful place. Whether it's because of its location - near the camel stables - away from the busyness of the shopping area and people entering/leaving the pyramids. With it's atmosphere like you're on the countryside and not in such an overwhelming and crowded city as Cairo. Or whether it's the warm smile on Samar's face (the receptionist) when she welcomes you into their place. Her helpful instructions on how to enjoy your stay to the fullest and how she thinks with you when you ask for something. Her perfect mixture of professionality and a genuine willingness to help her customers any which way she can. Or whether it's co-owner Adam's colourful stories on pharaonic history or contemporary Egypt. I've had genuinely nice and in-depth conversations with the guy. From the moment I walked into their inn, I felt right at home.
But the owner can be such a talkative guy and the receptionist so lovely, in the end it are the rooms itself that matter most. Our group had one double room and two single rooms. Especially the bigger rooms are quite spacious. It's tidy, tastefully designed and well-organized. With everything you're gonna need for a short stay: clean blankets, clean towels, two rolls of toilet paper, some showergel and shampoo, and a watercooker with tea and coffee. I felt right at home and had a good night's sleep after our tiring trip from Alexandria. The next morning we received an extensive breakfast (Egyptian style) with beans, eggs, falafel and other local treats. More than enough for the three of us to get going on our trip to the pyramids. And the best part is that the dinner area has a terrific point of view over the pyramids. They are always there as this magnetic, mystifying presence in the background. You can see and feel them from the uppermost rooms, and they are there when you drink your first sip of coffee in the early morning.
I've already been to 'Pyramids Village Inn' for two times and I'm quite sure there will be new visits in the near future. Know that its kind and professional staff will let you enjoy past and present in the best possible way.
