A hearty place in the heart of Quito

I absolutely loved the place . I liked the old colonial house flair. I enjoyed most of all the fresh juice and fruits at breakfast.
Alex is the kindest manager ever. Super helpful with everything and anything you need to arrange or any questions you might have .

Wonderful Stay in city centre

Stayed in January 2024. Arrived late and was welcomed with a smile. Rooms are comfortable and quiet since mine looked out into the closed inner lobby.
Breakfast was great (two eggs cooked to your liking, fruit, toast with butter and jam, juice, and coffee). The breakfast room has the nicest of views.
The square where the hotel is located is lovely but it does get very quiet at night. The hotel is very safe. I did step out after dark, particularly to head to a small backstreet right behind the hotel (La Ronda), which had plenty of cute restaurants. During the day, there is no issue walking anywhere. BTW, there is a metro station (San Francisco) nearby in case you are visiting places located further away (the metro felt safe).
The hotel was quiet during my stay due to the bad press around visiting Ecuador but I received white glove treatment from the personnel.

Characterful hotel, close to Old Town.

We stayed three nights here, at the start of a month's trip to Ecuador. The hotel is characterful and spacious, although could be described as a bit run down in places. Our room was quite large and perfectly nice but lacked an outside window and the bed creaked. The shower was adequate although the flow was a bit weak and hot water took a while to come through to it and the taps. No safe in the room.
Breakfast was quite simple but very nice and served in a dining area with good views of the city.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with a good sense of customer service (after there was a bit of a mix up over our departure date, Alexander left a very friendly note of apology in our room).
WiFi was fine.
The location is very convenient for the Old Town, just a few minutes' walk from shops, restaurants, attractions etc and there is a cheap laundry almost next door.
The hotel arranged our taxi from the airport and this went smoothly.
Overall we felt this was a good option if you want to be close to the Old Town.

Two nights

Quality room, good bedding
Breakfast well served: fruit, bread, eggs.
Beautiful location to discover Quito during the day.
(generally speaking Quito not recommended in the evening and even less at night)

Wonderful staff, iffy location

The hotel itself is fine - nice lobby area and a pretty spacious room. The staff are very thoughtful and attentive. But we did not realize when we booked it that the area is pretty sketchy and definitely noisy. I will find a different neighborhood next time I come to Quito.
