Great option if you want a quiet, chill place with conscious, kind staff and to live in peaceful nature

I stayed at Iguana for about six months from September 2020 through to March 2021and my experience was excellent. The owner Sandra is just great: kind, wise, warm, smart, organised, compassionate. I ended up becoming friends with most of the staff while I was there, just very nice people in general.
Given that she is Swiss German (lol), Sandra’s place is run with ruthless central European efficiency and organisation. The internet was extremely reliable and the place was always ridiculously neat and tidy + clean. Rooms are simple and minimalist but comfortable and well appointed, with nice blue/green-based colour schemes and excellent, reliable hot water in the showers and bathrooms. You will have some geckos for room-mates for sure but that is the same as all hostels here in Ayampe (!!)
Iguana is a very quiet and chill spot... There are MANY accommodation options here in Ayampe for such a small town: Iguana is a good spot for those who like peace and quiet in the middle of nature while still being close to the beach and the action at the centre of town. It’s like living in a little section of manicured forest… and yes… there are wild Green Iguanas living here! ; ) I even saw an Anteater (Tamandua) there!! First time I’ve ever seen one in the wild.

A totally enjoyable and relaxing experience

The hotel is exactly the kind of place I dreamed about when thinking of a stay in a small village on seaside. It is a short walk from the beach, has a lovely garden with hammocks and birds to watch, even a iguana made an appearance. Room was spacious, breakfast nice. The staff was very kind and pleasant. A totally enjoyable and relaxing experience.

The best place to stay on the surroundings

Besides being in a very chilled beach - ayampe - this place has a fantastic energy. Both Sandra’s that takes care (the owner and the employee) of the place are so kind, and let people to fell very comfortable there. They have shared and individuals prices for honest prices comparing with the neighboors, and also have camping area - that you can rent a tent, or take yours.
I did both, and it was super good all the instalations.
The shower is super hot :) and there is a kitchen to share and cook your own food :)
The place is also very very clean and organized. VERY REcommended!
