A real hotel experience in a special class – luxury, tranquility and views of the Vejle Fjord
We just had a fantastic stay at Hotel Munkebjerg, and it is undoubtedly one of the best hotel stays we have had in Denmark.
The hotel is a “true” hotel in the classical sense – here you can control the old virtues with high service, quality in every detail and an atmosphere that embraces professionalism and hospitality.
The location is simply unique. The hotel is beautifully located on the top of the “Munkebjerg” with an impressive view of Vejle Fjord. The nature surrounding the hotel gives a special peace and it feels like a haven away from everyday life.
The spa area was really delicious and gave plenty of opportunity for relaxation. The combination of spa, good food and good wines made the stay pure delight.
The breakfast buffet was all in top – one of the best we have experienced. Lots of delicious homemade products from the hotel’s own bakery and slaughterhouse, which really elevate the experience.
All in all a stay where the quality can be felt all the way around. If you are looking for a genuine hotel experience with great location, good gastronomy and the opportunity to completely relax, then Hotel Munkebjerg can be highly recommended.
We will definitely come back.

Swimming pool and jacuzzis very relaxing.

Avoid the hotel. Terrible rooms. Beds are stone hard. No AC. Impolite receptionist. Location is far far away for everything. Choose something else. Good breakfast.

Average stay with room for improvement
We had a nice stay in a nice and prepared room. The hotel meets the basic needs, but does not provide the big extra.
The breakfast offered both good and less good experiences; the selection of gluten-free options was unfortunately a bit limited, and there was a lot of crowd around the buffet. On the other hand, the chef at the omelet station was fantastic and provided a really good service.
The pool area is for the small side, but fine for a quick dive. However, we experienced challenges with the hygiene in both the pool and the hot tub, as many guests unfortunately did not use the shower before use. All in all a very average hotel, where you get what you need, but no more.

Det glæder os, at I havde et fint ophold på et klargjort værelse, og at servicen ved omeletstationen gjorde et positivt indtryk – den ros giver vi meget gerne videre til vores køkken.
I forhold til de glutenfri alternativer ved morgenmaden vil jeg gerne kort uddybe, at cøliaki stiller meget høje krav til fødevaresikkerhed. For at undgå enhver risiko for kontaminering arbejder vi derfor ikke med egen bagning af glutenfri brød, men benytter certificerede produkter udefra. Udvalget vil naturligt være mere begrænset end det håndværksbagte brød fra vores egen bager, men vi forsøger altid at vælge gode og sikre løsninger.
Vi er kede af, at I oplevede trængsel omkring buffeten – det er værdifuld feedback, som vi tager med i vores løbende arbejde med morgenmadsoplevelsen.
Hvad angår pool- og spaområdet gør vi meget ud af rengøring og tydelig skiltning omkring hygiejneregler, men vi er desværre også afhængige af, at gæsterne selv efterlever dem. Jeres bemærkning er dog noteret.

Sure it was very grand in the early 1980's!
This hotel is in desperate need of a complete revamp. It is exactly as it was since the 1980's. The carpeted floors in the bedrooms. The bathrooms. The bedroom curtains!!!! The dark dingy hallways. The reception. I honestly can't say anything positive about this hotel, besides the location! Oh and the breakfast was really very very good! If you have heavy suitcases, there is a ridiculous ramp you need to push your bags up by yourself. Its a hard no from me!
