Great place as warmly recommended
Here prevails a nice cozy atmosphere with a warm heart and quality-conscious hostess in Tine.
Everything is super well-maintained and a lot has been done to make you feel comfortable.

Shameful cancellation policy.
Unfortunately had to cancel(6dg before), which resulted that the accommodation still had to be paid (due to the beatling policy)
Usually experience that shorter cancellations are accepted without charge.
Hope to be able to visit another time.

Underwhelmed
On the plus side: the location in the village of Faldsled, close to a small harbour, is very nice. The large breakfast and sitting room at the end of the building is bright and pleasant, and so is the conference room on the first floor. We were lucky to be the only guests that night, and enjoyed the peace and quiet in the common rooms. However, with 29 beds in total, conditions may be rather different during busier periods.
And here is the catch. The rooms are just too small for anything but sleeping. At about 21 m2, our “family room” contained a double bed plus a bunk bed. Two hangers on the wall and a small bookcase. No closet and no room to place our luggage except on the bunkbeds. We cannot imagine how a family of 4 would manage in such a cramped space. The bathroom at barely 3 m2 needs no further description: not acceptable.
We only came here because our usual B&B was fully booked. But Birkelygaard isn’t really a B&B...a hostel would be a better category. And surprisingly, the price is the same as that typically charged by “real” B&Bs.

Gorgeous place near the sea
We’ve spent a couple of days here and would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to visit the countryside of denmark!

Great little spot on the beautiful seaside
It's an old farm house which the host couple Tine and Christian have renovated very nicely. The rooms are very good, clean and comfortable. A nice common area with cool quality designer furniture and space to chill out. the outside is spacious, with a big lawn for outdoor playing for the kids and a stone through from the ocean and the little harbour of Falsled.
There's a nice simple breakfast served by the very friendly the hostess Tine. in the evening you can borrow the little kitchen facility and make your own dinner and use the BBQ. And in case you want to eat out one day the famous gasto inn Falsled Kro is right next door. This is absolutely worth a try.
Our kids loved Birkelygaard as much as us and we had the greatest three days. We'll be back for sure
I'll recommend this place, if you want a go on a few days "hide away" in the country side or as a foreigner experience a true Danish idyllic village in relaxed and informal. surroundings. I know Birkelygaard also organized small corporate outings for a day or two for workshops. that is definitely also an option to consider.
