Great value and very welcoming stay

We had a great time staying at the Orhideja. The accommodationw as clean and comfortable, the food was great and Boran could not have been more helpful. He speaks excellent English, is very happy to share his time and knowledge of the local area and makes some fabulous meals. We stayed for four nights and had a great time. The only negative is that it is pretty difficult to get to Plitvice National Park from here unless you have your own transport - although it's not far away, the road is too dangerous to walk along. If you have your own transport I'd recommend staying here without hesitation.

Good value for money

We had a 3 bedded room. Room was average, but the view from our balcony was just stunning and peaceful! Beds are quiet hard. We had realy hot summer days so AC is a big advantage in this apartment. Unfortunaely there is no restaurant or other eating options in walking distance only by car or other vehicles. Plitvice lakes in 8-10 mins distance by car.

Peaceful, remote but good location

The apartment was located in a peaceful side road by the river Korona with spectacular views of the mountains. Very close to the national park entrance and to local restaurants on the main road. Recommend going to the national park, it was beautiful with stunning views throughout. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Johnny the dog enjoyed a walk with us to the river. Really recommend you go to the river Korona for a swim, this is within walking distance from the apartment. However the room was very basic with no cooking facilities and a small bathroom. The main concern was no air con in the heat of the summer however if only staying for a couple of nights this isn't too much of a problem. Overall, really enjoyed our stay here.

Quite and relaxing.

After a long day hiking in the National Lakes, Apartments Orhideja offers a place to relax and rest. It is probably 5km away from the Entrance 1. If you are driving then it is not a problem at all. However, if you come by bus, you can either call a cab, or call the owner. The owner was very helpful as he picked us up and also dropped us when we want to go back. The nearest restaurant is approximately 2km away. If you don't have a car, remember to bring instant noodles or anything to cook. You can use the kitchen of it's dining area/restaurant but don't cook something complicated. The easier the better. Breakfast is served here too for EUR5 if I'm not mistaken.

Room, not apartment. Other than that - average.

These are rooms not apartments. No kitchenette, not even a kettle in room. Bathroom was tiny and the toilet was constantly making noise as water flowed from flusher. We were welcomed by a man smelling strongly of beer but very nice guy. I don't mind provided that we came in only announcing ourselves half hour before arrival. Night was very cold but heating worked very well.
Location is a bit far from the lakes but we drove so we didn't mind.
