Sun and Tranquility on an Idyllic Island
Villa Pincevic on Lopud Island was ideal for total relaxation. We had requested airport transfer ,which was wonderful- taxi driver collected us and drove us to a small harbour outside Dubrovnik where we were collected by speedboat and about 15 mins later had our first glimpse of this beautiful tiny island. Nico the villa owner was waiting to collect us in his golf buggy taxi and drove us up the hill to Pincevic. It is one of the few villas/Guest houses with a pool.
Nico and his family were very welcoming , helpful and very friendly.
The room was fine- a little dated but clean and the bed comfy. Breakfast was served outside his adjoining villa The White House and was very adequate with both hot and cold buffet
The sandy beach was about a 25 minute walk on the other side of the island but a hilly walk in the heat. We opted for the 5 minute golf buggy taxi!
The waterfront has numerous good restaurants. The only music came from the one big hotel.
There is a ferry service to the other islands and Dubrovnik, which is further away than I had thought- an hr on the ferry.
Totally enjoyable holiday and the peace and quiet just what we wanted on this holiday but may not suit everyone. We stayed for 2 weeks and in retrospect a week on this island and a week on the mainland might have been better, but more expensive.

Great potential, but a few shortcomings limit it
As a budget option fine, but pricey for what you get. Great friendly host (Nico) and support, but badly organised; while they had confirmed my arrival early, upon finally having found the place (500 m from ferry) no one was there and I had to search around the property to find a staff member.
Staff very flexible, e.g. as an extra service they did my laundry well. Pool small but nice. B'fast nice on the terrace, but very underwhelming; maybe worth 1-2 stars (no fruit at all, no fresh juice, no yoghurts) while the property charges for 3 stars. Nice fridge and AC in the room; maintenance a bit dated.
Lopud is brilliant even in busy peak season; beaches on 2 sides of the island, closest one in the main port 200 m walk. Nice walks through the forest and hills, well signposted.

Good find on Lopud
We stayed here for four nights in August, and it was pretty much as expected.
Room was nice, a little dated, but we didn’t intend to spend much time in the room! Brilliant to have a pool after the walk back from the beach, as it was HOT.
Buffet style breakfast which did the job for us, we did notice some people would bring their own fruit etc.
Probably a 5 minute walk down to the seafront and restaurants, although closer to Robinzoon restaurant which I can thoroughly recommend! 15 - 20 minute walk to the beach on the other side of the island, we didn’t use the golf buggies once, although a nice option.
Owner is very sweet and friendly, always happy to see us, and will kindly offer you lifts if needed.
Our main criteria was to have a pool, although we love sea swimming it’s a nice option especially in the late afternoon. So this fulfilled all our needs, breakfast was a bonus for us!

Perfect week in Lopud
What a perfect place to totally chill. Not only is Lopud as close to perfection as any little island in the sun can be but in our opinion Ville Pincevic and its charming owner Nico have cornered the market in pure hospitality. As our flight arrived after the last sail of the day of the big ferry, Nico organising our transfer from Dubrovnik Airport by private taxi followed by a private 20 minute speedboad ride to the island (at a very competative rate according to people we spoke to). And there he was, with a big smile and a warm welcome waiting at the little quay in his golf buggy to take us the short uphill ride to the Villa. Showing us to our room, a few short instructions he bid us "happy holidays, gave us info to closest restaurant (as it was 10pm at night) and see you in morning for breakfast". Casual. Friendly. Informal. After a long day, just perfect. After we returned from Robinzoon Restaurant (see review of restaurants to follow) we checked out our room. It was lovely. Bright, furnished balcony with seaview, crickets 'cricketing' away, really powerful shower with lots of hot water (anytime of day) comfy single beds put together, a spare sofabed and loads of room for the two of us. Aircon, safe and fridge. The room was spotless fresh and homely. Breakfast was on the terrace at Nico's 'modern' villa, the White House with a very inviting pool between the two buildings. Half a dozen sunbeds and big parasols, again all areas were spotlessly clean. Great choice of cereals, cheese and salami, fresh breads, boiled eggs, jams, etc. Coffee, teas and orange juice. Throughout our stay Nico and the lady who helps him could not do enough for you to make your holiday the best it could be. I had read some reviewers negative comments about the 'buggy taxi rank' at the front of the villa being an annoyance. It was only busy at peak times and if you happened to be in the room/pool at that time we felt it all added to the 'cute' atmosphere of the place. Big plus to the 'buggy taxi rank' at such close quarters for us more mature/not so fit holiday makers, step out the gate and for 15kuna (apx £2) pp you get to ride up the steep 'road' and dropped off at the perfectly beautiful Sunji Beach (without the need for oxygen and resuscitation!). At the end of our stay Nico drove us and our luggage down to the main ferry harbour in the village for our journey back to Dubrovnik with instructions how/where to get the coach for the airport. A lovely man with lovely accommodation on a lovely island. Check it out. Peaceful. Perfect. Bliss. Thank you Nico and Villa Pincevic.

A Lovely Stay
Villa Pincevic is situated approximately 200 metres back from Lopud's beautiful port, on the lane to Sunj beach. It is also next to the area where the golf buggies pick up the less able (or less adventurous) to drive them the 1.5 kilometres to the beach. So it's ideally located.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. With all you need for a short stay. The pool is welcome - perfect for cooling down in after walking back from the beach.
Breakfast is a simple affair, served by Niko, the genial owner. It is eaten by the pool and comprises coffee, juice, cereals, boiled eggs, bread, ham and cheese - all you need to set you up for the day.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. With all you need for a short stay. The pool is welcome - perfect for cooling down in after walking back from the beach.
