Good option near Ploce Gate of Old Town
This property is very close to the Ploce Gate (east entrance) of Old Town Dubrovnik, making it an ideal location for exploring the Old Town. The room was clean and comfortable with nice amenities.
It didn’t offer much in the way of decor, and I noticed the walls were pretty thin. Those are the only negatives I could point out. However, I didn’t hear past 10 or 11 PM, so it wasn’t that much of an issue.
Far more positives than negatives to staying here. You’re right next to the taxi stand and bus stop, and there is a market and several places to eat there as well. Very convenient.
I also want to put in a good word for the brother and sister who run the place. They were both so friendly and helpful, even arranging for a transfer to the airport when I departed. It just made the whole experience more enjoyable.
I would definitely consider staying here again if I were to return to Dubrovnik

LODGING IN DUBROVNIK
We stayed at Villa Ragusa Vecchia in Dubrovnik , unknowingly surprised by excellent location, right in front of the walls and meters from Ploče gate of the Old City,
The rooms are spacious, clean and equipped with air conditioning, flat screen TV, a bread toaster, electric coffee maker, electric kettle and private bathroom with shower. It also has a shared terrace.
The property offers free WiFi. There are also grocery stores and several nearby restaurants. Banje Beach is 500 meters away and the cable car is 100 meters away but uphill.
In addition to the above we value the friendly attention of the host siblings, we recommend this property for both couples and solo travelers or family.

Safety threats, police, force cancellation and no refund
!!! This experience involves police, threats, noise, and forced cancellation.
This property is on top of a hill where you have to drag you luggage for 5min to get to the front door. Immediately after the check in I told the staff Mia that neighbor were too loud, (5+ kids makes my entire room sound like a middle school playground). After a couple attempts to make the noise go down I ask for a possibility of modifying my reservation, make it 1 night only and refund us the remaining of money, or refund in full and we will leave on that night. The staff was very defensive and started blaming us over the phone, but anyways we settled on her giving us an answer by the next day (so I thought)
Next day at 11am, she called me out of the blue and said our reservation was canceled and we need to move out in 1 hour so a new guest can move in. If I can’t pack in time she will throw my luggage with the restaurant next door. I asked if the refund will be processed in full, she dodged this question and said just call Bookings. I was on the phone with Bookings for 2 hours, because the host had the audacity to mark me as a no show, which means no refund and booking canceled. Throughout this time, she never never sent any communication about the cancelation through text, but just yelled at me in person.
This is where the crazy happened. Bookings.c agent and me stayed on the phone for an hour, they understood the situation but they have to get a confirmation from the host before processing any refund. I insisted on staying in the room until the hosts approve the refund requests, and because I didn’t get any money back, I still have the room. She said “you guys said you just want to move out regardless of the refund so you need to go now or we call the POLICE” at this point her logic and false accusation was just insane. After staying in the room for another 15min, she sent a big, non-English speaking guy up to throw us out of the room. I explained the situation to him, and he decided to back down. But still this was a crazy interaction with huge threat on our safety.
It has been a full day since I moved out and still not a single dime of refund. Why would I ever agree for a cancellation for no refund? Just so that you can rebook another guest? For offering the worst experience ever, just so that you can double book the room and collect more money? Are you guys insane?
Don’t stay here. Or it’s on you if one day that non-English speaking neighbor come to throw you out.

We have been working with B.com for over 15 years. All our guests were very satisfied, pleased, at our place, which you can see from 0 (zero) complaints, and over 700 excelent reviews over all booking sites.
You tried to take advantage of us. YOU HAVE BOOKED ANOTHER PROPERTY CLOSE TO OURS, and than decided to cancel ours, and stay at the other, upon arrival.
Our cancelation policy is 14 days. And every reasnable request for cancelation by the guests over the years were always granted within those 14 days or during their stay, if they had to check-out earlier.
We won't be taken hostages, or be blackmailed by someone like you.
Our property is 20 metars from Old City enterance, no steps. NOT UPHILL CLIMB.
We have soundproof apartments, and children were in apartment next to yours. THEY WERE NOT NOISY, I WAS THERE.
Nobody called the police, nobody thretened, you were given choice to stay or go. But you tried to blackmail us, get the refund in exchange not to write bad review based on made up situations. That is not an option. We work hard to keep our properties at highest level possible, and won't encourage this kind of behaviour.
"Big neighbour who does not speak english" is Miho. He is owner, works very successfully in tourism from 2001., has MBA in economics and tourism, speaks perfect English and Italian, also very good German and Spanish.
Looking briefly at your published google reviews (300 of them), I noticed that you gave 1 star to over 200 different businesses, from carwash places, pizza cuts, small shops, delivery guys, tea places...
Didn't read them all, but I bet girl scouts selling cookies door to door, to finance field trip, got rated 1 from you.

Location, location, location
We stayed at Villa Ragusa Vecchia for 4 nights. The location is absolutely perfect, we couldn't have a better location in Dubrovnik. Miho was lovely, friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was expensive for what it was but this fits in with the prices in Dubrovnik. Our only complaint t was that the walls were very thin, we could hear noise from the apartment upstairs and in the apartment next door which woke us during the night and early morning. I would recommend this apartment especially for the location & Miho was excellent

Great location, comfy stay
Fantastic stay at Villa Ragusa Vecchia, which is the absolute best location in Dubrovnik! It started with an arranged airport pickup that dropped us right next to the building. Mia let us in and gave us a map and tons of great tips on what to do. The room is comfy with heated bathroom floor and a coffee maker provided. The location by Ploce Gate is perfect to walking into the Old Town or heading up to the Mt Srd cable car. It was unseasonably rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the terrace, but I know some beer/wine up there on a nice day would've been a treat. Highly recommend!
