Great stay at Well Plus Guest Hotel

My Partner and I stayed for 1 week at the Well Plus Guest Hotel and had a great stay. The room was cozy and clean and was in a central location to a lot of retail shops and street food. The staff at the Hotel was very helpful and brilliant to deal with if we had any questions. :)

Basic budget option

This is a very basic accomodation with a wet room ensuite and A/C. It is self check-in. When we arrived there was a shortage on towels so we only had hand towels for the shower. The walls are very thin and there is no lift so you will need to walk up three flights of stairs. The breakfast is a self-service room at the end of the corridor. There is toast, cereal, coffee and water in a small kitchenette. There is nowhere to sit in the kitchenette and you need to wash up your plates afterwards. It feels more like a youth hostel really. The location is very good and the manager is friendly. If you want a budget option, and don't mind that there might be noise, this is a reasonable option.

Old, dirty and in need of renovation.

It's a good location and the guest house may have been a nice place to stay at some point, but today it is in a necessary need for big renovation. The rooms have dirty walls and old bed sheets. Bathroom tiles are falling apart. But the worst of all is a strong chemical smell that is no way to get rid off and gives a headache after just being there for 15 minutes. The place has a nice rooftop with a beautiful view of Seoul and a cosy backyard. For same price you can find a much better cleaner place in same or similar area.

Not clean!!!

Unfortunately this was my worst choice for accommodation in my 16 years of backpacking and travelling. I was blinded by the 'superb' review on Booking.com (no idea how it resulted in this review score) but was very disappointed on arrival. I have travelled throughout SE Asia and never had to witness a urine stain on the bed sheet, pubic hair on the blanket and hair everywhere in the bathroom (shower wall, shower handle and lots in the drain). The rooms look very different from the pictures. ( Not sure where the airbrushed front photo was taken- there is no space like it). You will find that walls in the room have lots of stains and mould coming through behind the sky blue wall paper. The common area has a dining table but cramped - not that clean looking either, and again different from the pictures on the website.
I am definitely happy with staying in small and modest rooms as long as it's hygienic.
I have stayed in much nicer Guesthouses in Myeongdong for similar price in the past. I wish I had gone back to those instead.

Amazing place to Stay in Seoul

Perfectly located next to Myeongdong station (just five minuted walk), close to most of sightseeings and with everything necessaery by your hand. Beds, conditioner, good bathroom in the room and breakfast included. The host is extremely friendly and helpful!
