Oh yes!!!
This was a complete different experience. The cabins are surrounded by nature. I had to climb 60 steps. but it was well worth for the view. It is very close to Tayrona Park (10 minutes by bus and the busstop in front of the hotel). Nice swimming pool. Restaurant with lovely food. Veronica, her sister and their mother are wonderful hosts, making you feel more than welcome. I wonder if they still practise their yoga and Duolingo. Wifi in the upper room sometimes difficult to get, but no problem closer to the lobby.

Thieves and non honests
I booked with them 3 nights 1 month ago. They accepted the payment without telling me cancellations policies and without vouchers. Now I would like to cancel 1 week before and the just introduce me after 1 month booking reservation the cancellations policies!!! They don t refund you, they cancel your reservation and they rent again your room!!! And of course they never tell you that Tayrona parc is closed.

It's about feeling abused and having been taken advantage of.

Usually I have a great eye when choosing a hotel. But once in a while you encounter not so great experiences.When you go to this place, please remember you can't bring food or beverages from the outside... so basically it is their way or their way. The nearest town - Santa Marta its "only" 40 klm away....
The breakfast portions are very small and options for lunch or dinner are limited as well.
There is no hot water at all and many times the water shuts down without any warning. When there is "running water" there is not enough pressure to take a decent shower . . . so you shower with water trickling down... The place is very basic and I understand it... but that doesn't mean the curtains should fall when you try to open them.
The electricity shuts down in the middle of the night leaving you without a working fan. It's a place to relax but if you want to have Wi-Fi connectivity with the outside world, the signal is very weak and limited to the reception area.
This place runs as a family business, and they all confabulate to do things in a very sketchy manner. If you ask for touristic information they will direct you to another family member who makes a living out of you. We were willing to "waive" all these incidents but I feel responsible to warn other fellow travelers.
The last straw... was when we had to leave and since you are pretty much trapped at this place, we were looking for a mean of transportation from there to Cartagena which is about 6 hours trip. We simply wanted to know how to buy our tickets. We went to the reception and again we were referred to the same person. I was promised to get a intercity bus for $24usd with decent seats, A/C, Wi-Fi, etc. Instead we were rushed and loaded onto a rural bus, called BUSETA with no A/C, standing with other passengers along our luggage in the aisle and driver's area with no safety measures (pictures are available). We ended up getting off on the next available stop and we took a bus with all the amenities promised for only $10usd. Don't give me wrong.It's really not about the money. We try to always give the best of us to our guests because we love our vocation to tourism, but sometimes we have guests who do not know the ECO HOTEL concept so it is not close to the city.
Unfortunately his stay was not pleasant for us because even before his arrival he was already putting obstacles until he left and absolutely nothing made him happy. For more efforts of our team. We accept criticism that can help improve as a Hotel, but it is very difficult to accept rude people who just want to destroy everything in their path, while others do appreciate our beautiful nature reserve that we love and want them to come to enjoy.

Perfect place to relax
We stayed in Villa Cata for 4 nights and we loved it :)
It's just a 10 minutes bus ride to Tayrona National Park and so if you don't want to chill at the beautiful pool anymore, you can easily spent your day hiking or chilling at Tayrona's beaches.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and the whole hotel has a great flair.
The food was amazing, we especially loved it, when the lady was cooking! The whole staff is really friendly and we had an amazing time at Villa Cata :)
It's just a 10 minutes bus ride to Tayrona National Park and so if you don't want to chill at the beautiful pool anymore, you can easily spent your day hiking or chilling at Tayrona's beaches.

Worst experience ever
Stayed there for 5 days and regretted it from the beginning. The water in the swimming pool was green and dirty during the whole week. They told us it was understandable since it is located in a rural area, but the pools from nearby hotels were perfectly clean.
The noise from the main road is unbearable as many trucks drive through night and day.
The hotel facilities are poorly maintained.
Compensation measures offered were insufficient since all rooms had the exact same problems (no hot water, not enough pressure to have a shower, weak wifi signal, etc.).
Would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs.
