Great stay!

Though a quick stay, my family and I enjoyed this quaint hotel. The breakfast was large and delicious, with incredible views if you got the tables on the patio. The hotel was a closely situated near the square to easily enjoy the adorable town.

Beautiful El Despertar Hotel

My 82-year-old mom and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We stayed 2 nights.
- It is clean, beautiful and full of plants.
- The location is perfect.
- The Receptionist (owner?) was cordial, polite and very accommodating.
- Breakfast was a buffet - tasty, fresh and absolutely sufficient in choices.
- The view from the hotel deck is a lovely panorama of mountains.
Highly recommended to people who prefer "boutique" hotels to 5-star chains.

very good!

Quite a nice place- well located very close to the center-- and very well kept/ clean. Rooms are comfortable (but a bit hot!)-- Breakfast fantastic- both in quality and service. Very reasonable value for the money and overall a good place for a great town

It was a walk-in. Welcoming and efficient check in. Impressive boutique traditional design. Very spacious and comfortable room. No AC; per request, we were given a mobile ventilator. Breakfast was ok. We didnt use the jacuzzi. Jerico is small, so the hotel was close to everything.

Avoid at all cost!

Seven years living in Colombia and this is one of the worst hotels we've been to. Particularly unpleasant, lying, patronizing receptionist which is a rarity in Colombia.
We were pulled out of the jacuzzi, after 5 minutes, so that the owner's kid and his friends could enjoy it. It supposedly said in the check-in sheet that we had to make a reservation. This turned out to be a straight up lie as, in fact, it is not mentioned anywhere.
Regardless, priority was given to the five entitled kids in the jacuzzi... screaming, non stop, for an hour without any kind of respect for the surrounding guests.
If you like a hotel where paying guests come after the owner's kids: this is the place for you!
Furthermore, this must be totally normal operating procedure in this hotel as never a word of apology was offered.
Future guests, you have been warned: avoid this sad joke of a hotel!
