Service was tip-top throughout our stay! Our wechat service lady Gill 梁燕设 response was super fast, prompt, and exceeded our expectations! As the hotel was near the sea, the rooms were highly moist though. The walk to the beautiful beach was super convenient plus there were place to dine by the beachfront!

Hilton prices, not Hilton standards.
The strong review score stems from many reviews in the past, and based on the infrastructure, it’s definitely credible that this Hilton property was once on a pedestal. And I thought we cannot go wrong with a Hilton. I wish the present Hilton does an audit or stay as a guest to experience its current state. Make no mistake about the room rates, they are Hilton standards but the stay is far, far from it.
The whole business here seems to be running on cost-cutting, which I would hardly believe a premium brand like Hilton would endorse. We booked Executive Lounge Access but it seems the lounge is closed during low season and what we are now entitled to is the lobby lounge with a choice of soft drink or juice. I opted for orange juice and it was syrup and water. Mind you, though it’s low season but the hotel is packed as it’s a rocket launch day but the lounge would not be opened. Next, the hotel breakfast is surprisingly paltry. The spread is small though the food tastes nice. The biggest issue about the property is the heat encompassing the whole hotel. It seems the aircon in every room (I tried two) is of the same warm air with very low fan power. The setting says 16 degrees but it’s mainly 30 but the ceiling fans are for ‘aesthetics’ only. These combine for a perspiring sleep, imagine this in a Hilton. The aircon is also off in the gym and in lifts that are not near the lobby and the heat in the lobby is unbearable, in my room, there is fresh lizard droppings and the electronic safe does not work. Most worrying of all, I feel for the brand, is that the staff do not seem happy. There are a couple of staff who are nice but many others seem unhappy or would even avoid eye contact. The feel of hospitality just isn’t here. I mean with the infrastructure and land size and location, there is enormous potential for this to be a great hotel, and it probably was in the past with so many high scores, the current scene just seems sad for a Hilton. Having enjoyed many Hilton stays in other places, I really hope this place would turn things around.

Excellent Choice in Hainan Whenchang
The New General Manager is a good boss with leadership skills and open-minded thinking.

The hotel staff and hotel facilities were perfect. Gill on the front desk was a great help to us. I would recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure. 10 star review
