Recommend for your Shanghai stay and great service.
Great location and a very clean room. What really made my stay special was the outstanding service from Rosemary at the elevator area and Natalie at the lounge. They were incredibly attentive, professional, and thoughtful throughout my stay. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made every interaction pleasant and made my entire trip feel comfortable and effortless. Thank you both for going above and beyond—I truly appreciated it and look forward to staying here again.

Don’t go to this hotel it’s a waste of money. There are better 5 star hotels in SH
The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and nothing compares to it. The atmosphere is loud and chaotic since the hotel has over 700 rooms so you don’t get individualized attention and service. The breakfast feels like a fish market with everyone screening and waiting in line to get their food. The location is horrible since it’s way too loud despite being in the center. The rooms are old and musty with metals having rust in it. The service is the worst part with rude staff that don’t accommodate to your needs and try to scam your deposit money. I highly recommend going to the W Shanghai or the peninsula Shanghai from my personal experience. The Conrad SH is definitely the worst “5 star” hotel in the city no doubt about it.

Beautiful Property, Deeply Disappointing Experience
My experience at Conrad Shanghai left me very disappointed, not only because of a serious concern I reported but because of how management handled it afterward.
During my stay, I discovered that cash was missing from my room. I cannot state with certainty exactly when or how it disappeared, but the fact that I had to report missing cash at a luxury five-star hotel is, in itself, deeply concerning. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world over the years and have never encountered a situation like this.
After reporting the incident, I asked management several specific questions about their investigation. One of my primary concerns was the amount of time housekeeping spent in my room. According to the information provided by the hotel, one housekeeping visit lasted approximately 14 minutes, while another lasted approximately 39 minutes. These durations appeared unusual to me, particularly the longer visit, and I asked management to explain why housekeeping remained in my room for that length of time. My question was never directly answered.
Instead, I received responses that appeared to be standardized or template-based. Rather than addressing my specific questions, management repeatedly stated that an internal investigation had been completed, no evidence of wrongdoing had been found, and that I should file a police report. While I understand that a hotel cannot conclude misconduct without evidence, I expected my legitimate questions to be answered thoughtfully and transparently.
This review is not intended to accuse any individual employee. It reflects my disappointment with the way a serious guest concern was handled. When a guest reports missing property, especially at a hotel of this caliber, professionalism means more than simply stating that an investigation was completed. It also means communicating openly, addressing reasonable questions, and demonstrating genuine concern for the guest's experience.
The hotel itself is attractive and well maintained, but customer service is ultimately judged by how problems are handled. Unfortunately, I left feeling that management was more focused on closing the matter than on meaningfully addressing my concerns. That experience fell well short of the standard I expected from a Conrad property.

We had a very bad experience when going for our "free drink" on the 65th floor. Although the place was empty we were asked to leave a table where we sat t enjoy the view, or pay 198CNY, furthermore we were nearly tricked into paying another ridiculous amount for a bottle of wateer that was stregically placed on the table.
i returned to this hotel numerous times since March, only the very first time i was there did i receive fresh fruit in the room, and then a "gift" of biscuits the next day, it was one of the reasons i returned but alas, no fruit on the three times i checked in over a period of 2 weeks! Lastly the lack of English speaking staff is very apparent and has made me decide not to return to this hotel on my future trip
