Awesome hostal !
Awesome hostal wih great and joyfull employees ready to help you with anything. The owner is a very trustworthy person : i had lost my passport and when they found it (a week after i had left), he sent it by mail. Great kitchen, ambiance and service!

Hostal Valle Mistral
It's a nice place outside the rooms. And the hosts are friendly. The good thing is, you don’t get cold at night, there’s hot water in the bathroom and there’s no noise in the place, mmh there’s Netflix... However, I found things uncomfortable compared to the other stays I have had in the locality. First, at the reception it smells bad (like paw). And in the sewer rooms. The sheets and bed covers were dirty (stains) and the pillows very low. The bathroom complies, but there is no bathroom floor, so beware of slipping out of the shower. There is soap, but no towels or shampoo (just in case, because in its regulations it said that you had to leave the towels on the floor for their replacement, but there is no towel).
The installation of the light is crude. The truth is very ugly the piece.
Breakfast to me conforms because it was what as always, bread with cheese and ham and a coffee.

Amazing Rooftop & wonderful garden
Ocean view Rooftop, different species of cactus and flowers with peaceful garden these are best features that we liked. They have guest hummingbird everyday visit their garden :) we woke up every morning sounds of canaria and other birds. Then, discover the city with their rental bikes. Also, they are eco hostel, produce the hot water from energy of sun... Thank you so much Cesar, Maria and Mitchel we will miss you. Saludos de Turqia.

Not recommended
1. I tried and I tried and I was very patient, but there was no hot water in the shower.
2. The room charge was okay (though more expensive than some in La Serena) but the parking was VERY expensive and VERY inconvenient
3. The kitchen was full of dirty dishes and the stove was difficult to light -- dangerous for a gas stove!
4. The staff tried to help and were friendly, but I would not recommend this hostel due to the above.

Perfect place to stay!
the room inventory is beautifully designed and the rooftop terrase is absolutly amazing. The Staff is friendly and welcoming and the rooms are very comfortable. The Chef of the hostel ia the most friendly Person I have ever met, he is realy friendly and welcoming and you can talk about everthing with him.

You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions. LOCAL TAX LAW. Based on local tax laws, all Chilean citizens and resident foreigners must pay an additional fee (IVA) of 19% To be exempt from this 19% additional fee (IVA) the payment must be made in US dollars and a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented. The passenger won't be exempt from this fee when paying in local currency. In case of no show the invoice will be billed in local currency, including this additional fee (IVA). This additional fee (IVA) is not included in the hotel rates and must be paid seperately.
Chilean citizens will be charged an additional 19% value added tax. Please note that foreign guests do not need to pay this tax if they show their passports, immigration cards (issued within 90 days), and a non-Chilean credit card.
