So much more than a good value for the money hostel in a central location...
As other reviews have highlighted, the location, the room, service and breakfast in Uruhao are excellent, very good value for the money. But what really made the difference for my stay and for my entire time on the island was Francisco, who runs this place with his wife, a Rapa Nui archeologist.
Francisco was very responsive since I made the last minute booking in providing all the necessary information, referring local guides and arranging the airport pick up etc. Once I arrived, my conversation with Francisco was so fascinating. He was not just talking about where to go, to eat, etc, not just a rough history of the island that you probably can access on line easily. In his scholarly manner, he inspires you to look deeper of the landscape of the island, to think harder between the myth, the oral history, the scientific evidence of the past, and to appreciate the beauty of unknown while seeking the truth.
When my outbound flight was delayed for more than 10 hours, Francisco so generously extended my stay without charge and drove me to the airport the second time in the late night. I also saw he was helping a guest of the neighboring hotel who was locked out her room after 11pm...
I learned Uruhao means "a meeting place" in Rapa Nui. Indeed. And you will be in good hand there.

Very pleasant stay!
Fantastic stay and fantastic host.
Absolutely and recommend to others who are going to Easter Island. Stayed here on two occasions equally satisfied both times.

Good cost benefit
It's like a guesthouse. Room of good size, clean. Bathroom also good size, medium old, cleaning the box should be a little better. Breakfast very good - in the living room of the house of the owners, but there is no embarrassment, they are quite friendly. Very good Wi-Fi in the room. There is no TV (not the least). It is about 2 blocks from the edge and 1 blocks from the main shopping street of the city. They will pick you up and take you later to the airport - which is great because, despite the next, taxi is quite expensive on the island. I also liked quite the tour guide indication that they passed.

Location, Location, Location….
The Hostel Uruhao’s perfect location minutes by foot from the ocean, shops ocean front restaurants, and a short walk to Moai Tahai make this spot near perfect. Francisco met me at the airport and he and his wife Sonia served fantastic breakfasts each morning ( coffee, fresh breads, all manner of fresh fruits, charcuterie, and home made pastries). Francisco’s English is quite good and he is a font of information. The property is colocated with Hotel Otai( I never could figure out relationship) and consequently you get Otai’s beautiful Gardens, pool and other spaces at hostel prices. The room is basic with sparse furnishings and cinderblock walls but is is immaculately cleaned each day. Wifi was great in dining area but erratic in the room itself. But if you come to Rapa Nui to watch TV or stream video, you don't deserve to be here. The AC worked great. Not all hostels have it. Shower could have been hotter. The typical American who comes to Rapa Nui probably opts to spend 4 times as much at one of the hotels. Big Mistake…. This place has the charm

Location, rooms, welcoming by the perfect owners
Excellent hostal, not even know pq is not such a perfect hotel. The rooms are huge, clean, bathroom so clean that smells of chlorine every day. The bed linen is of a preciousness, even little English embroidery has in the finishes. Towels are changed every day. Shampoo and soap, hair dryer, etc... the breakfast is without explanation so tasty, every day with various mimos of the fortes, cakes and homemade cakes, fruits, breads and everything that makes up a real anja coffee to then proceed to the tours.
The owners, d Sônia and Mr Francisco are of a friendly unparalleled. He is conversational and explains everything better than the local guides themselves.
I was super well received.
And the location is one of the highlights of the hostel. It is on the main avenue, in the center where everything happens, the tourism companies, the restaurants and the cafes.
Do not think twice when looking for a hotel, this is wonderful.
