My Favorite Hotel

We stayed the Marriott Eaton Centre for five days in 2024 and for three days in June/July 2026. I have been to many, many hotels and this one is my favorite.
Rooms are pretty big for what I call “city rooms” (hotels that are in large cities). Maybe a little outdated but super clean.
Both of our visits started with a little drama … the first time we stayed, our luggage got lost at the airport. By the time we arrived at the hotel it was after midnight. The second time, we arrived during a parade and had so much trouble getting to the hotel. However, when we were arrived, we were greeted with the smiles we needed.
The gym is great and the pool is nice. It is in a walkable area of Toronto, which is awesome.
My favorite part… the lounge. The breakfast is amazing… the woman who works the omelette bar is a gem. The food is great at breakfast and the snacks throughout the day are wonderful (the granola is top notch).
Finally… I cannot forget to mention Ralph. We loved Ralph during our visit in 2024 and we were bummed that he was on a mini-break when we were there in June. We are coming back to Toronto in the fall and hope to see Ralph again.

Renovation

My three friends and I stayed at the Marriott Eaton Centre for Caribana from July 30 to August 3, 2027. It was the second time I stayed at the Marriott; my first time was in 2018. To be honest, I don't find any changes in the room: still cluttered carpets in the room in 2026, as well as the same old decor from 2018. For work, I travel a lot for my job and several hotels where I stay no longer have carpets in the rooms. I think the Marriott Eaton Centre needs renovations, both for the rooms and for new decor, especially since I pay $500 a night. My room had two queen beds, a television, a small refrigerator, an iron, and a coffee maker. I found the room clean. I don't think I will return to the Marriott on Bay Street in 2027 for Caribana.

The breakfast selection was exceptional, though the cost was somewhat elevated, which is to be expected given its prime downtown Toronto location.

Large room with sofa, bathroom was also large. Staff were friendly and helpful. Conveniently located near CF Eaton Center, just a quick walk out the back door.

We stayed for 7 nights. Staff were excellent - very friendly and accommodating. Check in and out were very smooth. The concierge was excellent. All the restaurant and housekeeping staff were amazing. The breakfast was beautiful - plenty of variety. We booked club lounge access and that was well worth it. The hotel is situated right next to the Eaton Centre and is a great base for sightseeing. Highly recommend.
