It's a 4 star experience for Sussex

We landed at the Fairway Inn due to a basketball tournament. In case anyone is reading this who stayed on 12-14-2024 – it was probably our kids running up the hallways and I do apologize.
Upon arrival we were prepared for a dated hotel based off of previous reviews. It was. We were stayed on the second floor and it seemed most rooms on the 1st floor had flat screen tv’s – ours was a tube. Kids loved it – they were impressed hearing a tube tv turn on and suck in all the static from the room. I would say we had about 10 kids sitting on the floor watching a tube tv – it kept them quiet for 45 mins.
The only negative remark we had was the smell of the room – it smelled like you opened your grandmothers’ closet – the wife went out and bought a candle, problem solved. Other than the smell (in our room) – the room was clean. It does lack USB ports so be prepared!
There was no continental breakfast but at that price – I wouldn’t expect there to be.
At the end of the day, it was a hotel in Sussex, not downtown Moncton – for the price, services, hospitality – it did the trick. I think the staff did their absolute finest being able to keep existing guests and two basketball teams happy.

Haven after a bad experience

The lovely woman at the desk saved my dad and I when the other hotel we had pre-booked ended up having bed bugs and we couldn’t stay there. She ensured me that their rooms were clean and bug free - which they were! It was a decent stay, comfortable beds, clean room, even if the motel is older and showing some signs of age. Great free breakfast included at Joe’s Diner which was a highlight! I’m very thankful for the wonderful staff at the hotel and the restaurant.

Will not be staying at Fairway Inn in the future.

Horrible water pressure as I could not take a shower and would test the showers before taking one. Could not get any water coming out to take a shower.Horrible service. Pretty bad when one pays alot of money and cannot take a shower. We were scared that the toilet would not work properly as well. Sauna does not work, and hot tub is manual as you have to keep hitting the jet button every five minutes. Upgrades need to be done to older rooms. Got no reimbursement and had asked management to call, and have never heard back from them.
Restaurant was awesome. Best food ever,however rooms are not worth the money that you pay.

Haunted by the ghosts of cigarettes past.

Pool, sauna & hot in were great, restaurant is great, service was great, but my room smells like the ghost of a billion cigarettes. There is about 30 burn holes in the carpet. Motels have been non smoking for like 20 years might be time to rip up the carpets, because they smell so bad it’s giving me a headache.

Great spot for a night while traveling

Sure; the property is a little dated but the rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning works well. There are also laundry facilities for guests to use (coin operated); detergent can be purchased at the front desk. A great breakfast at the attached 50’s style diner is also included. Lots of parking onsite. If updating does take place, don’t change out the mcm bathroom counter; it’s so wonderfully retro!
