Cosy room and lovely breakfast from very friendly host

Lovely cosy room with aircon if needed. Anthea is a great host, very friendly and accommodating.
Great communication beforehand and lovely welcome.
Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with fresh eggs from the garden chickens and an awesome dish of prepared fresh fruit, pastries etc.
Quiet residential area. We walked to the harbour for dinner and got a cab home.
Two sweet little dogs and a cat complete the stay.
Would stay again!

Bad!!

We had a two-day arrival and were 15 min. late in this accommodation..the lady did not open, although she was sitting in the apartment, a note hung on the door; we should look for another accommodation.We had not experienced anything like this before!!From the outside this accommodation looked very unkempt... matching the unkindness!!!

misleading host & accommodation description

All - be aware that this is not a "Cottage", but a lady renting a single room in her private home. While that may technically meet the criteria of a B&B in British Columbia, it is not at all clearly expressed in this site (compare it with her listing on AirBnB(dot)com and you will see she is far more clear elsewhere. There was no fridge or microwave inside the room (although it was advertised and pictured as such)The refrigerator on offer was in a separate private & very messy room and was more than half full of pet food and medication. When told that we did not understand that the booking was for a private room in a private residence, the owner changed her demeanor dramatically and said she would be more comfortable if we left, since we were not comfortable. She said "I will refund your money"...So we agreed and took a few minutes to find alternate accommodation. As we collected our things and headed out the door she said "I will only refund one night; I didn't say I will refund ALL your money." So just like her listing, she uses vagueness to mislead.

South Pole? Come on, this has to be fictitious! I've been running my B&B for 10 years now. I get very few reviews on Tripadvisor as most of my guests book through Booking.com and write their reviews on that site. This guest made assumptions that she was renting a cottage on my property. This is not the case, and would/should have been clear had she read the description on Booking.com. When she learned she had paid for a room in my B&B, she became so rude and belligerant that I suggested she find other accommodation. She attempted to write a review on Booking.com but they did not permit her to do so because she didn't stay with me. I have nearly 200 reviews on Booking.com. 98 of them rated my accommodation 10/10. My average review rating on that site is 9.2/10. I suggest potential guests look at the reviews on that site which can only be written by guests who have actually stayed at Campbell Cottage.

High quality B&B accommodation

Set in a very quiet part of town about 15 walk into the old downtown area but you wouldn't need to go there. There are high quality restaurants just a few minutes away. Very clean room (big bed) and bathroom (not ensuite). Good wi-fi and an absolutely excellent breakfast. The advantage of a B&B is that you can get local advice from the host which proved invaluable. Beautiful place to stay.
