Excellent stay!

Wonderful stay for a special birthday trip! We enjoyed our 4 night stay in Apartment St Paul, and appreciated that the hotel was able to meet all our requests (top floor, balcony, soaking tub), we even had an electric fireplace for atmosphere. The location is outstanding, the room well appointed, and staff very friendly.
Bonus points for real milk in the fridge for our nespresso coffee!
The only knocks were the painfully slow WiFi (which also made the TV interface frustrating), and the scale of the sofa in our suite was a bit small for us (we are tall—husband over 6 feet, me almost). Also, there is hardly anywhere to unpack clothes—just very small closet/cubby. I pack in cubes, so just took those out of the suitcase and used them like a dresser. Due to the historic nature of the building, there were some odd spaces where a dresser or side chair could have been helpful.
But that is all relatively minor stuff. We would certainly stay there again and recommend it enthusiastically!

Dear guest,
Happy belated birthday! Thank you so much for choosing to celebrate such a special milestone with us, and for taking the time to share your thoughtful impressions.
We are delighted to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your four nights in the Apartment St-Paul. It brings our team great joy to know we could accommodate your preferences for the top floor, balcony, and soaking tub—and that the fireplace and fresh milk for your morning Nespresso added that extra touch of comfort to your stay. Providing attentive, personalized hospitality is at the heart of what we do.
At the same time, we sincerely appreciate your constructive and practical feedback. While the historic charm and architectural character of our building give each apartment its unique soul, we recognize that this can sometimes present challenges with layout, closet space, and furniture proportions. Your clever use of packing cubes was brilliant, but your notes regarding the sofa scale, storage options, and seating layout are immensely helpful as we continually refine the comfort of our suites.
We also take your comments regarding the Wi-Fi speed and TV streaming performance very seriously. Reliable connectivity is essential, and our management team is actively reviewing our network infrastructure to ensure a much smoother digital experience throughout the property.
Thank you once again for your enthusiastic recommendation. It was truly a pleasure hosting you both, and we look forward to welcoming you back for many more memorable getaways!
Warmest regards,
PILOIAN Gevorg

Not bad, could be better

Rooms could use a refresh. There’s no shower door so it flooded the bathroom and entry way every time someone took a shower. Seems like they should add a door to the shower.
Reception was great, informative and friendly.
Housekeeping was less great, there were little flies in the bathroom that we had to kill every day. Plus, one day they left a rag and extra pillowcase in our room but didn’t leave enough towels.

Mixed Feelings - Good location for downtown

Small hotel in Old City Montreal with lots of plus and minus going for it.
On the plus side, you will feel like a rock star for 5 mintues when you reach the room, it is cavernous and styled with modern furniture. Cool vibe with minimal lighting and a nice sofa and coffee table. Then you realize there is almost zero clothing storage. What appears to be an ironing board cabinet with two miniscule shelves at floor level are your storage. You are forced to live out of a suitcase which kills the rockstar dream.
The kitchenette is admirably stocked with plates and utensils and small cooktop which we actually used on our last night. Big plus.
However you are forced to leave a whopping $400 deposit for "incidentals" which can only mean the in-room two bottles of wine, some chips, and a couple of candybars. An incredible over-reach which was annoying.
You are also faced with a decision to forgo housekeeping, with the priviso that you are contributing $5 nightly to cure cancer. So your decision point is, a clean bathroom, or curing cancer. We took the hgih road and went, as they say, "green". We did have towels delivered twice over 4 days.
What you need to realize is that you are also depriving the houskeepers of extra pay, prolonging the covid-era reduced services within your hotel stay, and moving the cost of labor and supplies you would receive for servicing the room directly into profits for the hotel. You are getting a lot less for your $400 per night, the staff gets less, but the managment gets more. Alas, you are curing cancer.
We chose courtyard room in fear of street noise and it was a good choice, pretty quiet regarding neighbors. There was however a constant thrumming noise 24/7 that had to be a courtyard generator or condensor. Took some getting used to.
Let's talk valet. We went for it because we drove up and used the car constantly - Montreal is very driveable and parking on street with meters easy. The valet needs at least 30 minutes to get your car. Must plan in advance to get it, do not try to be spontaneous. Dropping off your car in the Valet section in front of hotel is a hassle, frequently blocked with cars, we had to circle the block several times when dropping back off. The guys are very eager and aimiable.
Breakfast was OK. We had all 4 days and it did the trick, Food was fresh and the staff winning.

Dear M.TruthTripNJ,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us and for highlighting the many positive aspects of your stay, including our spacious suites, kitchenette, breakfast, and friendly team.
We’re sorry to hear that the clothing storage did not meet your needs. Our suites were recently renovated based on feedback and requests from our guests, and we understand that design preferences can differ. We’re sorry that the new style and layout were not entirely to your liking.
Regarding the $400 incidental deposit, please note that this is a standard precautionary deposit commonly used by hotels across Canada. It is not specifically related to the items in the minibar, but rather serves as a general security deposit and is fully refundable after the stay, provided there are no additional charges.
We also sincerely appreciate you choosing to participate in our Green Program. We’re sorry if the towel refresh did not meet your expectations. As explained by our team when enrolling in the program, towel and room refreshes are provided upon request.
Thank you again for choosing le saint sulpice and for sharing your feedback with us. We truly appreciate it and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Montreal in the future.
Warm regards,

Beautiful Urban Oasis in Old Montreal

Fantastic experience! Perfect location just off of Rue St. Paul in Old Montreal! Beautiful building and rooms. Like an urban oasis with beautiful courtyard restaurant and bar.
We stayed in a large one bedroom suite with murphy bed in living room. Was surprisingly very comfortable. Beautiful big kitchen well equipped with ample supply of cutlery and dishes along with nespresso coffee machine, microwave and small fridge.
Nice large screen TV in living room and bedroom.
Beautiful new huge bathroom with large soaker tub and huge separate shower.
Looking forward to staying here again! Solid 5 stars!

Checks all the boxes

This is truly the best place to stay in old town Montreal. The location can’t be beat. Close to restaurants and attractions. We had an apartment room and it really was a treat to be able to make coffee and tea every morning.
Also the hotel has valet parking which if you drive in is so important and worth the expense. Everyone we encountered couldn’t have been nicer. Most important is the cleanliness of the rooms and hallways. Look no further this is the place to stay.
