Nice, smaller hotel. Very clean property and rooms. Extremely kind and professional staff. Breakfast was included, but it was basically breads, oatmeal, juices and cereals (so if you are looking for a variety of fruits, meats and warm eggs, look elsewhere). The stay itself was great, so if a full breakfast buffet isn’t your stay, definitely stay here!

Clean hotel and comfy bed - that’s about it. No coffee or hairdryers in the rooms. Kind of felt like a dorm. Very sparse. A kids’ lacrosse team was in town and kind of took the place over.

Pleasantly surprised and a lot to like

We stayed 2 nights at Spark by Hilton in Guelph. We chose this hotel because of Hilton reputation, and it was almost the only hotel in Guelph that segregated pets to specific floors.
We stayed at this property when it was a Holiday Inn Express.
This is a newly (completely) renovated property and the results are really nice.
Room Features
+ Very soundproof (seems like concrete between the rooms)
+ Laminate flooring (instead of carpet)
+ Very large new TV with major streaming services that you can use your personal login with
+ 3 multi-charging stations, each with USB-A, USB-C, wireless Mag safe pad and 2 AC outlets (something I've never seen in a hotel before)
+ Nice heating and aircon control
+ Comfortable king bed
+ Mini fridge
+ Microwave
+ Environmentally friendly dispensers in the bathroom
+ 3 Wall hooks
+ Blackout drapes
+ Proper adjustable desk work-chair
+ Desk has a swing out portion to double its size and orient to eat on while watching TV
+ Iron and Ironing board
+Tub shower combo
- No freezer in the mini fridge
- No safe
- No kettle or coffee making equipment (although coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the lobby)
The lobby has a well-stocked store with meals and snacks along with a microwave.
We used the gym. It's small but well equipped with the essential aerobics' machines and free weights and a sanitizing station.
There's a nice small pool which we did not use.
The breakfast area is nice, and the free selection is OK. There are no hot prepared meals.
Although our room was super quiet (3rd floor end of hall), we noticed a gap underneath the entry door. A good improvement would be to install a simple door sweep to cut down on potential hall noise.
Staff were friendly and this hotel really did feel like a quiet oasis.

Absolutely enjoyed are girls weekend. The room was spacious fridge and freezer was so hand for ice cream sandwiches.
The staff so friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub perfect temperature. They gave us an early check in and late check out with no issues.
We will absolutey be back thank you to the team in Guelph at Spark Hilton
