The room was clean and roomy. The tea set and cookies as well as bottled water was appreciated.

Looking a bit tired

It was fine - but really looking quite tired and quite expensive for what you get.
But did the job for a one-night stay.
We tried the fish and chips in the pub but were, somewhat, disappointed.
Again, sat outside looking at the facade and garden area, you felt it all needed a bit of love and attention.

Great start to our trip

The check in was smooth, the staff were attentive, the food was good and the room/bed were very comfortable.
Only slight downside, the evening menu could have been more extensive but the halibut and chips were great.
It created a brilliant start to our Rockies adventure and Canmore is stunning !

Would come back next time we visit Banff. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, walking distance for everything in Canmore and a quick ride to Banff. The pub downstairs was great with good food and a cozy vibe

We do not recommend this Inn

Sometimes “old decor” can mean charming, full of heritage character, well made; other times it means what it says…OLD. For my stay, I would say the Georgetown Inn is now simply “OLD”. Our top level/price Regency suite, which we booked for 4 nights during the summers busiest season, is a case in point of “old”: the king bed creaked and shifted at every move. The drawers in the 3 drawer chest dropped downward when pulled out to use. The draperies did not completely cover the windows and allowed in ample day light and street light at night along with car headlights when they left the car park at 5 AM. The window air conditioner was installed using copious amounts of spray foam insulation (Great Stuff?) to hold it in place rather than hiring a carpenter to correctly size the space and install the unit. The walk in shower had a fabric shower curtain (ick!),lighting in the room was, at best, dim. Housekeeping had to be requested on a daily basis if you wanted anything (clean towels, fresh coffee mugs, more coffee/creamers..you get the point).
But that is not the worst of it…the crème de la crème is that we were told by the front desk that ALL of the priciest Regency Suite rooms in the inn are on the second floor directly above the Tavern…so from 7 AM until after 10 PM, clanging bottles, loudly closing doors, dragging chairs and tables about, tossing out boxes to the trash (one door over on the ground level from our 2nd floor suite), stocking shelves…on it goes…daily and nightly. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk, who dutifully attends her tasks from 8 AM to 8 PM sharp, I was advised that the owners and manager were “aware of the problem”. It does not appear anything is being done about it though. I would advise all to NOT book one of these rooms..ours was #203.
For nearly 500CD/night, we found the room to be far less than desirable especially with the continual noise from the Tavern. We do not recommend this ‘Inn’.
