A practical and affordable option near Banff
Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge is a great option for travelers who want to visit Banff without paying a fortune for accommodation. It is a simple hotel, but very practical and comfortable for a few days.
The rooms are comfortable, there is plenty of parking, and the location is convenient, with restaurants, food options, and supermarkets nearby. The laundry facilities are also very useful, especially for travelers on a longer trip.
My only recommendation would be to consider offering a breakfast option in the future. Other than that, it was a very convenient place to stay and a good value for the money.

This accommodation resembled a cheap motel rather than a ski lodge, and the standard provided was extremely basic relative to the rate charged. At £220 per night, it did not represent value for money; the price was disproportionately high for the level of quality offered. I would not recommend this property.

We had to park in an unlit, nonpaved field. There were no outside lights on our building. In our opinion, this is a very unsafe condition.
There was a free standing ac unit so close to the bed that we had to move the bed to get in.
There was no place to store luggage.
Clothes hook on back of bathroom door had been torn off and not removed.
Although we did not use the space heaters, they were in dis-repair.
The only positive comment is that the unit was clean.
We took photos but I am having trouble downloading them to this report.

Our stay at Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge was great overall! It’s definitely not brand new, but it was much more affordable than most other options in the area and was still very comfortable. Our room was clean, everything worked as it should, and the beds were comfortable. We also had a beautiful view of the mountains from our room, which was such a nice bonus. The location is great too since you can easily walk into downtown Canmore.
My only real complaints were the hot tub and sauna. The hot tub didn’t seem very clean, and there was quite a bit of debris floating in the water that looked like dead skin, which made me uncomfortable staying in it. I was also really looking forward to using the sauna in the morning, but the sauna hours are only 4–10 PM. In the summer, when it’s close to 30°C outside during those hours, that isn’t really an ideal time to use it.
The front office staff were lovely, friendly, and very helpful. Overall, I would definitely recommend Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge if you’re looking for a comfortable and more affordable place to stay in Canmore, especially with those gorgeous mountain views, as long as the hot tub and limited sauna hours aren’t a deal breaker for you.

It is an old hotel, though well maintained. We liked the flower baskets all around. The staff was very welcoming. The soundproof is not that good and the AC was quite loud. The one bedroom apartment has all nessesary appliances and utensils required for a longer stay. The bathroom had small soap, shampoo/cond/wash dispensers, but no lotions. The bed was very comfortable. Good stay in overall. Thank you!
