Good City Hotel

Shorted stay only one night on my business trip. room is big enough for city hotel and cleaned. bathroom is small but well organize with bathroom amenities provided.
Staff is not so friendly and need to more attention to detail. Upon cehck in our room key doesn't work. so i need wait and call someone to replace the new key card.
At night time you still can hear someone driving from outside. So highly recommend higher floor is better.

A Reasonably Priced Phnom Penh Hotel with Good Location

The room was clean, the beds were comfy, the toilet was clean too. Please bear in mind that this is not a 5 or 4 star hotel. It's good value for money as it was a very short walk from Zing Hotel to Central Market and Cafe Malaya etc. Daytime, we asked the goldsmith shop nearby the hotel, to point us in the direction of the Riverside, and we walked all the way to the Riverside. It was a less than one kilometre leisurely walk for us to reach Riverside. And we got to see Phnom Penh daily life along the way. There's even a convenience store right next door where we bought our instant noodles, hot coffee and chips etc. The reception also has a small kitchen with seating right next to it, serving hot meals. The front office, kitchen and housekeeping staff were cheerful and pleasant with us. Housekeeping cleaned our rooms daily. We used the Grab app to order rickshaws and cars to pick us and drop us back at the hotel doorstep. Cheap using Grab. Do be careful at night though, don't walk around the area at night alone or even with friends. Just use Grab or Pass app to order rickshaws to get around and you'll be fine.

Don’t believe the websites

This place is nothing like the website photos. Looks clean & pristine on website but definitely not like that once inside. Towels were very threadbare & no longer held there clean white look. Booked online & decided to upgrade. The rooms are small but also was very noisy and the key card didn’t always work, door jammed & we couldn’t get out of the room at one point. Asked to be moved to another room & we downgraded which was better & a little less noisy.

Bad Service

I booked a single for April 25, 2022 since April 19, 2022 by phone. I talked with a lady to book for 3 nights first and can be extended as my schedule can be revised from my management. She was OK. At my arrival around 8:30pm (April 25, 2022), the room was not reserved for me. But there was a staff (male) assisted me for a room with pay before check-in. I surprised as I travel around Cambodia, and I just found the service like this and I never met. He agreed me to stay and pay at the check-out date. Two days later, when I came back to hotel, a group of staff did not allow me to come to my room and force me to pay for the first two night (my stuff is blocked in the room). I paid after I complaint strongly. And they agreed to me to make payment for the rest at the check-out date. Tomorrow, my room was blocked again and a staff force me to pay for full stays (06 nights), noted that I informed the staffs that I extent my stay to 06 nights. I complaint very strong at this time as there was a group of staff confirmed me to pay full at the check-out date. I just stayed for 4 nights but force me to pay of 06 nights and block my stuff in the room.
To Cambodian people, I strongly recommend that don't come here, Hotel Zing. They don't welcome us. They take care. I fell very terrible as I book local hotel for my stay.

Dear guest,
It is very normal for hotels to require payment from guests upon check in. It can be by paying for the entire accommodation or making a deposit or put a credit card as a guarantee. You can even pay for one night at a time. But hotels will not allow you to stay 6 nights and pay later. This is the norm for the hotel industry anywhere.
Of course, there may be some exceptions with regular guests that the hotel manager or staff know well. The manager might extend courtesy to these patrons.

You can find way better for the money...

The photos and reality are somewhat different. In the photos it looks clean, sharp and new. It’s not. It’s very dated and a bit grubby and needs some renovation really.
It was a bit of a maze to get to the room too. The room itself was large but basic. The bathroom is small as was the “wardrobe”.
I paid $19 for a double room. If you’re thinking of that budget...check out Avacation Hotel for $1 more
