Great budget hotel for an overnight stay

We stayed here for a night before getting our permits for Bhutan. We requested for an upgraded room, which was reasonably charged. The rooms are OK for a night's stay. The staff is prompt and helpful.
The hotel is centrally located and very close to Bhutan Gate. The immigration office for getting permits is walkable.
The food in the hotel is good and they have a small in house vegetarian restaurant.

Great budget hotel for layover

Its a nice average hotel just apposite the bhutan gate. walking distance from immigration office. They have a small restaurant too which serves buffet. Prefer this place in case you looking for humble place to stay while you transit into bhutan

Be warned: Hotel Satyam's wi-fi servers do not usually or reliably provide Internet access for computers. The rooms are OK and clean. The service is OK. The kitchen is capable of providing some very good food.

Budget hotel with good food.

We stayed at this hotel the night before entering Bhutan. It is right opposite the Bhutan gate and was an easy place for our Bhutanese guide to find. The hotel is built in a shopping mall and therefore noisy. But it has a view over the street which as it was Diwali was a bonus.Our room didn't have a window but was clean . The beds were hard . The shower worked .The staff were really friendly and helpful and the evening meal and breakfast were really good and tasty - a surprise.
To sum up a good budget option but don't expect too much .

Cheap and decent stay until you sort out your Bhutan permit.

We arrived at Jaigaon, pre-booking this place from Mumbai itself, since other places weren't shown on TA. Although there are tens of other lodges nearby, this one faces the Bhutan gate and is closer to the main market.
The rooms, beds and bathroom are clean, though.
The food is average, as compared to wherever you live. The roads in Jaigaon are horribly filthy, so you'll need to find a place easily accessible to transportation, and this is it.
