Mini Hotel, I would definitely stay again
Tiny, family owned, hotel with just 4 rooms. Reception and café on ground floor, one bedroom on 1st, another on 2nd and two rooms on the roof. The staff spoke English and German. The owner showed us up to the room and explained the features, and gave us the wifi code. The décor is very hard to explain in a good way. There was some minor night street noise and morning glass collecting noise (note I had the double glazed windows open).
My room was on 2nd floor. It was of a reasonable size with two single beds, air con, cabinets, cupboards, shower wet room, spare pillows and blankets, mini fridge, insect window screen, feature wall print, feature curtain and blinds. I was not a fan of the rock chic red and black room décor but loved that it had the owners’ personality and taste incorporated. It was a refreshing change from bland chain hotels.
The hotel location was at the edge of the old town, near the end of pedestrianised street full of hipster cafes, bars, shops and restaurants, in the trendy “arty” district. Easy walk to main shopping street and squares of the new towns and easy access to the steps leading to the old town. 30-ish minutes’ walk to railway station but our taxi was only 4:12 Bulg or 2 UK pounds (Sept 18). Also close to the main road where 99 bus takes you to bus station - north (for long distance buses to Burgas, etc.)
Good points: Value for money, location, big personality, insect window screen, staff.
Bad points: Restricted reception time opening hours could be a problem for initial key collection.
Tip for the Guest: Mosquito spray; there are many old trees nearby. Maybe ask for top front room as it had a balcony facing the street but probably smaller room. If using taxi, write both Bulgarian and English spelling for the street; as a couple of taxis did not have sat nav/know the location and some mobiles loose signal.
Tip for the Hotel: Maybe replace the singe duvet covers with double covers, or bedsheets at the next refurbishment; as the single duvet covers kept slipping off.
Local tip: For breakfast, ignore the hipster, soya milk turmeric latte, coffee joints and turn 180 degrees back to the main ring road. Turn left, past the bakers, past the cheap lunchetta, past the bus stop and you come to a communist era square/flats. There a lady runs a hole in the wall café operation. She sells super strength, bargain coffee and local breakfast “faves”, to a selection of locals and bus stop commuters. Just look for the tables and umbrellas in front. Also pop into the tourist office for a list of the weekly private and city gallery opening and events.
Would I stay again? Yes, great value for money and good location.

They've seen you coming...
It took a long time to find the place as it's very small and well hidden outside by street cafe culture and bars. We got in, greeted by the host and immediately had to show ID, which is normal but I was surprised they didn't accept cards, he wanted cash. 80 leva for a night. Then we were ushered downstairs into what I can only describe as a basement storeroom with a bed in it. It was awful. A broken ceiling light, an amateur decoration attempt with badly cut and fitted polystyrene ceiling tiles, painted over and peeling wallpaper, no proper access to the wardrobes, partly because of the room layout but also the clutter. The room was dirty, a left over lip salve under the bench seat (no doubt from a previous inmate), the tacky big mirror to the foot of the bed was filthy. There were broken floor tiles. The bathroom is in fact a wet room, so once my Wife had had a shower I then had to go in with one of the mismatched towels and wip over the toilet to be able to use it. (don't forget to take the paper out before the shower ! ) My bed side cabinet was in fact a small refridgerator, which incidentally didn't work anyway, and even if it had you'd need to pull the bed out to access the one and only single socket to plug it in...or the lamp, up to you. There were only two pillows so we had to add the cushions from the bench seat, which actually would have been more in place in a conservatory, it's not bedroom furniture.The bathroom door doesn't close, it's warped out of shape, still, I suppose you've both seen and heard it all before anyway. The staff, well, staff...disappear at about 5pm and you are left to fend for yourself, lock the front door on your way out in search of a meal. So, there you have it. A rip off at the price.Very disappointed with the whole experience. Still, some may like it. Better than a bus shelter or homeless hostel maybe.

Completely unprofessional service
This place advertises 24 hour reception.
Nonsense.
I got there before 1900 and the place was locked !
I was left with bags, a disability with no hotel room
All I got was strange messages from a lady who asked where I was and then she left.
Cannot recommend because of this terrible customer service.

Great hotel
This is exactly what it says ... a mini hotel ... reception / bar/cafe on the ground with 4 bedrooms above . Located in the Kapana district giving great access to old and new Plovdiv. Staff were lovely and the room we had (with shower room )was very comfortable and lucky enough to have a small balcony. No frills at this hotel but it does say they will provide snacks and drinks ... however there are many bars and restaurants outside the front door ... all in all I would stay there again

nice room
Stayed here for 2 nights , nice comfortable bed and nice big room 2 bottles of water on arrival and made to feel very welcome . Lovely view from our window and there was a massive food and drink festival going on , the whole of the Kapana district was buzzing .would stay again .
