Nightmare stay unsafe, dirty and disorganized
First of all, the place is dirty and the welcome was terrible. No one speaks English, so communication is basically non-existent, which makes everything even more frustrating.
I made the mistake of booking two weeks, only to realize there is no WiFi, even though I need it to work. I had to buy three SIM cards just to have internet access.
The organization is chaotic:
• The breakfast/bar is only open randomly (maybe once every three days)
• Cleaning staff empty the fridges and throw everything away without warning
• No one explains anything or communicates with guests
Facilities are also very poor:
• Only one mirror per floor for about 26 people, and no proper lighting
• So forget about doing your makeup or shaving
The pool is cold and almost no one uses it. The atmosphere is dead, and most people I met actually left early because of how bad it is.
On top of that, I was robbed three times during my stay, which is completely unacceptable and made me feel very unsafe.
I asked for a partial refund, both on Booking and on-site, and it was refused. In the end, I still left early but had to pay for the full stay.
Also, if you are allergic to cats, be careful: there is a cat in the hostel, and this is not mentioned anywhere.
Honestly, avoid this place. If you really want to try it, book a very short stay first.
Just two streets away, there is a much better hostel where you are welcomed with a drink, the WiFi works perfectly, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is friendly. That is worth much more than a useless pool.

Best location in Rio
Cool vibe :) Best hostel in Rio. Nice rooms and a wonderful swimming pool. 3 blocks from Ipanema Beach, a lot of bars, clubs and restaurants around. Perfect place t make friends! Ask the caipirinha and enjoyyyy Highly recommended!!!!!
