Thank you tetris hostel for providing us with a great service on our vacation.
Our experience as a family was excellent. Grateful of the manager who is willing to solve any situation that arises. Locomotion, restaurants, market, all very close. Also in Tetris Hostel a pleasant atmosphere, swimming pool, business included in the premises, common spaces, air conditioning. A great deal for all guests and workers. 100% recommended

INSALUBRE! FUCK FROM THIS NOWHERE! Look at the pictures.
I found the “hotel” and I confess that taking my daughters to a different experience by being installed in containers inspired me. I found the proposal creative and charming, though simple. It was clear that it would not be a luxury lodging. But, according to the propagated by Booking, clean, organized, colorful, fun, and according to the rating set on the homepage of the site “fantastic”.
As the trip would be family, with my little daughters, we researched me and my wife about the hotel. I admit I was worried. Here I should have followed my intuition and research and gave up the proposal to host us there. None of the phones posted on the internet, on Booking, on hotel.com, instagram of the site etc. worked. None. In addition, I saw that it was a place where various parties were held, a lot of people, DJs, watering to promote drinks etc. While, suddenly, who I imagine to be one of the responsible, recorded a video saying that the parties were suspended “by supervision” performed by official bodies. Those who act according to the law do not need to change course after supervision of proper organs.
Suddenly, one of the WhatsApp phones answered me. Never said anything on the phone, just message and every hour with a different “attendee”. Maria about possible breakfast, Camilo some reception, and Ralf who presented himself as “one of the partners of the establishment”.
Finally, unfortunately I insisted and made the reservation with the fixed idea of a different experience for my daughters. At this point the information was already starting to be unfounded and suspicious. They said they had no more restaurant, bar. I asked about the photos of portions in the pool and the like. They said that because of “being going through a moment of change” restaurant and bar were closed. They had nothing to eat or drink to offer as a service, besides a breakfast, whose photo I asked to see a few times and nothing. They said they were no longer a “hostel” but a “hotel”. I asked about the logo on which Tetris Hostel is written – surprised as if they had never told me they said “we will talk to our MKT team”.
We landed coming from SP around 00am and we followed to the “hotel”. We got close to 1am. When parking, the climate ahead was already so dark that the Uber driver himself was clearly surprised and asked, “Is it really here that they will stay?” No car parked, taking a pretty old and beaten car that seemed to be rooted there. The containers I thought would mess with the imagination of my daughters, even in the dark without any light, crushed, rustled, filthy. It was when we knocked on the door and we were greeted by a boy, who opened the door and spoke in a strange way. The lights are all out. Nothing he lit. My kids with the blind eyes and my wife without knowing what to say or how to act. What we saw was a sofa with bed linen mixed right at the entrance, where it became clear that the boy who received us was asleep. Items thrown away, a dirty old mattress thrown in the same space, a smell of mold and the darkness, Surely the boy was ashamed and guided us in the dark. We get to the room. Don't come in if you want us two and our two kids and their bags. Or us or them. We stared and the silence of shock took us. We did not have any repertoire to comment on the “pseudo perception” that that unbelievable place generated us. We had no room to move. A sink in the bedroom, a door that opened to a pipe toilet, a filthy electric shower, with exposed wires plated with glue, a towel door that kept a end of used soap and a residue of gum from some kind of cream used there once. Dirty the floor. My youngest daughter started crying because she saw two holes in the ceiling and was afraid to sleep on the top of the basement. Afraid that a plate will fall from the rotten ceiling or that a mouse or pigeon will fall from there. The children and my wife did not want to take a bath. We didn't open our bags because there was no room. We were exhausted from the journey. Without the strength or security to do what gave us the desire to run away from that place. The girls slept in the same clothes they were, as were we both. We would not take a bath in that unhealthy place. Me and my wife at the same time we sent a message to the one who had presented himself as a partner – Ralf. We knew the afternoon of the hour, but as long as we did not split and record what was going on, we could not follow.

We were “calm”, “sorry” and as we were with the children and the place was empty, we slept for 5h. At 6h58 the partner of the establishment responded to my message, apologizing, saying that we could stay at ease, and even responded with a “Amen”, when I wished good luck after the purchase of the place, which was going through the process of “being rebuilt”, to “turn a guesthouse”. I suggested that he himself compensate me for the amount related to the four days not used and already paid (we know Tetris via Booking, we book and pay via Booking for five days. We stayed overnight for 5h. and left the place). He agreed to refund me the amount of the four days, after I received from Booking, according to him about 30 days later with some discounted fees (talk available in integral if needed). The partner himself suggested to me the Hotel Mabu, since he was with children, and said that even when he goes with his children stay there.
The Booking attendant told me that he would call the site manager and that if they agreed to the refund, the site itself would make sure that the full amount without fee discounts was made. I notified the partner, who said that to speed up I would call Booking.
At around 2 p.m., already staying in a new location and having had to borrow new value contracted with counter value, I sent a message to Mr. Ralf to see if everything's going well. To my surprise, the lamb turned out to be a wolf. He abruptly changed his speech, his attitude, and, out of cordiality and respect for me and my family, crossed arms and said that they would not be of any value, claiming that the decision to leave the tetris was mine, stating that they delivered exactly what they sell. I then sent the photos that we shockedly took, trying once again to reach an agreement with stardusts and bureaucracies, and Mr. Ralph just disappeared.
I warn that this matter goes beyond the balance to be repaid. It reaches the sphere of justice and ethics by the renowned site that are not to disclose unhealthy establishments like this one.

We enjoyed our stay. Due to low season there was nobody around so it felt like a ghost town. No staff around except for via WhatsApp. Don’t expect a sociable environment at this time of year. The place certainly needs a freshening up and providing a water filter would be a great addition! Nice places to eat and drink very close by.

Pretty disappointed overall. Was hoping that the hostel would be an interesting and reliable place to stay whilst visiting the falls, but unfortunately was neither.
The hostel itself is in need of some love and care. There are holes in the ceiling such as the one that was outside our door that leaked a lot of water onto the floor after some rain overnight. I've attached a photo of of this and one just in the main lobby area. The room was dirty and features were poorly maintained. A lot of out of date notice boards added to the out-of-date feel. The toilets in the main lobby were in a very poor condition.
Whilst staff were friendly and willing to help, the hostel felt too laid back for me; it felt like I was staying in the owners home, and staff's gap year job more than I was staying in a place I had paid for. The first day that we were here, the owners hosted a children's birthday party using the main outdoor area of the hostel; and whilst this was nice, it did make one feel a little bit like a stranger. Staff would spend a lot of time sat around on their phones and at the tables outside talking, which would normally be ok, but for example our room was never cleaned.
Whilst I understand that we were here during low season, it really felt like the bar and standards were low during our time here.
To their credit, they did make a great caiparinha at the bar! The location is decent; about a 10 min walk to the centre of town, and a short walk to a bus stop that goes to the falls. The wifi was also okay.

Great and friendly staff. Always on hand.
The shower facilities need improvement and possibly directions on the taps as there are 4 but it was a good shower once I figured out how to do it.
Sun lounging area was great and spacious too. Beds were comfortable.
