Located on the island of Ilha Grande, the Pousada Casablanca is less than 70 metres from the beach. It offers air-conditioned rooms with a balcony. All rooms at Casablanca Pousada are bright and contain simple furnishings.

Perfect place to visit the island
Great location. Breakfast varied and very rich. Very helpful staff. The rooms clean, with fan and air conditioning. All very familiar.

Negative Experience
I had a very negative experience with the attention of the pousada.
I had a confirmed, active and paid reservation through an official provider (Takeoff/Travelscape–Expedia), with all the correct data of Pousada Casablanca: name, address, phone and dates. The voucher even included the contact of the pousada, exactly as listed on Google.
Despite that, when I contacted to confirm details, the pousada completely denied the reservation, saying it was a system error and without offering any solution. The attitude was unprofessional, unwilling to collaborate, without verifying alternatives and without understanding that the problem between platforms cannot be transferred to the guest, who already paid for the service.
The pousada did not offer any assistance, guidance or relocation options.
I consider this stance a serious lack of responsibility and an extremely frustrating experience for any traveler.
Due to the lack of adequate response, poor care and total lack of commitment to a confirmed booking, I do not recommend this pousada. A serious establishment should help the guest resolve a conflict generated by their own sales channels, not disengage.

Overrated
Given the price they ask, I think it is grossly overrated. A rock-hard creaking bed. Breakfast is okay unless you don't want to leave by boat at 8. The breakfast you are then served is nothing short of scandalous. Reheated coffee from the day before, stale bread and some slices of ham or something similar. So you're paying way too much for way too little.

Bad experience
It was a disappointment the stay in the hostel. The room they gave us was on the ground floor, with no privacy. Could not leave the window / curtain open pq gave direct for the hallway of the guest house and also to the street. In addition, the hosts smoked in the hallway and the smoke came all over the room, a horror. The room is small, tight, poorly distributed. I ordered a two-bed room because I went with my sister. One of the beds was double, ok, the other, it was tiny, single, with a terrible mattress, impossible to sleep in that bed.. we asked if there was another room available, but it didn't.
I mean, one person would sleep well and the other badly, how is this possible? In the end we had to sleep together..
Tight bathroom too, tiny.
Breakfast, another disappointment. Tight environment, when all the tables were busy it was impossible to transit between buffet and tables. In addition, everything I asked from the kitchen was done carelessly, for 2x consecutive ordered omelet that came with an entire pack of oregano inside. From the first x I thought it was an accident, but from the second x I realized it was pure carelessness, so I did not ask for more.
Wonderful location. It is a pity that it has so many details that disagree and do not justify the price. I do not recommend.

Great location, comfort and excellent service
We stayed at Pousada CasaBlanca from 12 to 18 March 2025 and had an excellent experience. The guesthouse is very well located, right in the center of Vila do Abraão, which makes it easy to access restaurants, tours and the pier.
The rooms are comfortable, with good beds, great shower, air conditioning working perfectly and internet that catches well in the rooms. The guest house also has a TV and impeccable service: the girls at the reception are very attentive and helpful, helping a lot with tips for tours and food.
The breakfast is excellent, with a good variety of fruits, breads and timely prepared options such as tapiocas, mixed eggs and omelettes. In addition, in the afternoon they offer a coffee with cake as an extra mimo for the guests.
Points to consider:
✅ Great location, close to everything.
✅ Comfortable and well equipped rooms.
✅ Excellent service from the staff.
✅ Very good breakfast, with options made on time.
✅ Cozy environment and well cared for.
Tips for an even better stay:
The blackout of the windows does not completely darken the room, so those who have light sensitivity can wear a sleep mask.
⚡ Since the guesthouse is in the center, there may be noise at night. For those who have light sleep, the use of ear protectors can be a good option.
Overall, I highly recommend CasaBlanca and will definitely be back! One of the best guesthouses on the Grand Island!
