Fantastic location, along Chobe River. We fully enjoyed the beautiful beautiful sunset with a glass of wine. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Quiet place with no TV!

Gateway to the stunning Chobe National Park

Clean and tidy accomodation on the banks of the Chobe River. We were visited by 20 or so banded mongoose on our first afternoon! Staff, food and beverages were excellent. Fifteen minutes from the Chobe National Park so it makes a great base to explore from.

An oasis on the banks of the Chobe

Hello!
Our two-night stay at the River View Lodge was truly enchanting. An oasis of tranquility, with spacious and well-maintained green areas. The activities organized by the lodge (Jeep safaris and Chobe cruises) are truly beautiful and allow you to see many animals thanks to the deep knowledge of the guides. The entire staff is attentive to the needs of the guests, very kind, welcoming, and capable of creating a pleasant convivial atmosphere. Excellent cuisine and abundant meals. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Highly recommended, we will return at the first opportunity!

An excellent lodge in a great location

River View Lodge lives up to it's name, beautifully situated beside the river Chobe. The gardens are very attractive with masses of birdsong and visits from mongooses. The rooms are simply, but really comfortable with a great shower, comfortable, large bed, a kettle and tea and coffee. Good WiFi. The communal rooms includes dining room and a lounge with comfy chairs and some games and books to borrow. The staff are wonderful, so friendly. Food is delicious - giving choices of local cuisine for breakfast and supper. A lovely little bar with inexpensive wine and other drinks.
The trips to the Chobe reserve were extraordinary. John and Matthew were both wonderful guides - knowing the park so well that they found lions and a leopard. They were SO knowledgeable - giving information on both flora and fauna. They went beyond for us The 5.30 trip saw the sunrise and the park waking up and the 3.00pm trip the amazing sunsets and other opportunities to see different animals. The river trip had a different vibe,- relaxing and full of sighting of hippo, elephants and buffalo.
We took advantage of a village walk with Ismail which was fascinating. He showed us the school and local shops while answering all our questions about life in Botswana.
Altogether a wonderful place to stay.

One night stay

We stayed one night following a safari. This was a lovely place with warm and welcoming staff. It was a bit far out of Kasane so we had prebooked the dinner. We chose our meal upon check out and then the meal was served at 7:30 pm. Guests are given assigned seats at one long table so can converse with others. The meal was very good. Breakfast is buffet style with the option of a few hot dishes ordered. The grounds are lovely. Our room was large enough. Entertainment: Watch for many mongoose on the grounds! We booked a ride to the airport after our stay and there was a small charge.
