Excellent B&B

This An excellent B&B in a perfect location. Our room was a very large and spacious size and was well lit with big Windows and nice views. The bathroom was of a high spec and would not look out of place in a 5 star hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the whole place was very clean and the breakfast and dining room was exceptional. We also had the option of having a fried breakfast with prior notice which was very nice as English guests.
We were also treated very nicely and the place has a relaxed atmosphere. Also it is in a perfect location for cyclists, being a short ride from roubaix velodrome, oude kwaremont and other cobbled climbs as well as oudenaarde for watching cycling races like we did.

They ruined my weekend in Lille

I stayed here for one night last June. First of all they forced me to make an instant transfer on the day of arrival for a problem created by them. On another site they replied to my review saying that my bank refused payment: it is not true the problem they created because they did not perform two-factor authentication. The bank refuses payment by credit card only if you exceed the monthly ceiling which in my case is very high and I have never exceeded it. Then they had a lot of problems saying that the check-in had to be done before 9.30 pm, that I had to stop by them first and then go to the concert and that therefore they would not let me in. At my insistence and after I pointed out that this prohibition was not indicated on the booking platform and that many other facilities give instructions to customers to check in after scheduled times, then they gave me instructions to enter. The problems begin at the time of my arrival: arrived at the structure around 0.15 am, I open the automatic gate with the code that they had provided me. I park the car and try to get in through the door that they had pointed me but it was closed, I try to ring the doorbell but nothing, I try to call on my cell phone but no answer. After more than half an hour I still can't get in and so I call the police. In the meantime, I'll check and find another open door to get in. I find a Service door at the back of the reception and I think it is the right one, I enter with the trolley and at this point I meet the owner all scared who had mistaken me for a thief. After explaining that her husband had told me where to go in but that the door was locked, she first began to say that I could not access after 10 pm, but then, seeing me upset and nervous, she apologized saying that the guests in the other room had locked the door through which I had to enter. Do you think a customer can lock the front door of a bed & breakfast? And then they were all locked, and I found only one Service open in the back. The next morning I met the owner and he did not even bother to clarify the matter with me. Never again!!!

Absolutely awful experience

The place is nice and due to being isolated, it allows people to relax. However, the owners attitude is absolutely appalling to a racist and homophobic point. They seemed quite friendly during the booking, until they saw that we were two men traveling. The attitude changed immediately, and it got worse as soon as they saw that my husband isn't as pale and blond as I am.
During our stay, we heard several inappropriate jokes, alongside with the owners not wanting to help us with anything. For example we asked for fresh towels, and all we got was that we could share a towel as we shared other things.
I wanted and still want to file a complaint somewhere as this is absolutely ridiculous. Also the rooms despite looking clean, are full of dust, and the blankets didn't seem washed. I have never thought it would be possible to pay so much for such a disgusting experience, and we will never go back.

A beautiful farmhouse in rural flanders

The owners of the farm have completely renovated the whole site. They offer 3 B&B rooms. We stayed in a quadruple room ( 2 double beds - inseparate rooms) They are fitted to the standard you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The pictures on the website do not exaggerate the style and the quality of the room. We only stayed one night but were made very welcome by owners Luc & Hilde. They served an extensive breakfast and are great hosts. Both speak English which is great help.
The farm is in a rural location but not too far from shops & restaurants.
We were also shown round the function rooms built into the shell of old barns. A great location for a seminar , meeting or a wedding. No expense has been spared in creating the facility.

Mitigé

Nous avions eu l'occasion de séjourner dans la chambre "Coquelicot", il y a 4 ou 5 ans et nous venons de séjourner dans la chambre "Liseron des champs"
Les 2 suites sont grandes et bien décorées, la première (Coquelicot) convient parfaitement pour un couple avec enfant car la chambre enfant peut être séparée de la chambre principale par une porte. La seconde suite (Liseron des champs) convient mieux à un couple seul car le divan lit est dans la chambre principale.
Le bâtiment est impeccable et largement décoré d’œuvres d'art. Tout est très propre également et rien n'est étriqué : belle sensation d'espace partout.
Lors de notre première visite, j'aurais sans hésité mis la note maximale mais depuis lors ce ne sont plus les mêmes personnes qui gèrent les lieux.
Cette fois, on sent une volonté de bien faire mais peut-être y a-t-il un problème d'organisation, un manque d'expérience ou un manque de personnel, toujours est-il que quelques "couacs" nous ont gâchés une partie de notre plaisir.
A notre arrivée, la maîtresse des lieux est absente bien que nous soyons arrivés pile dans le créneau horaire prévu, son mari n'est au courant de rien (il ne sait même pas ou sont les clés des chambres) et ne peut donc nous confier notre suite. Après 15 minutes d'attente, la gérante arrive (en courant) mais elle découvre un second problème : elle a confié notre suite à un couple avec enfant juste avant son absence ! Elle s'excuse et fait changer le couple de chambre Nouvelle attente de 15 minutes et nous pouvons enfin intégrer notre chambre. Quelque minute plus tard, notre hôtesse nous rend visite afin de vérifier si la salle de bain est bien toujours propre.
Le soir en se couchant, troisième problème, nous découvrons une éponge de démaquillage agglomérée dans la housse de couette. Manifestement cette éponge a été lavée an même temps que la couette et s'y est collée. La question est comment se fait-il que personne (au repassage ou au moment de dresser le lit par exemple) ne s'en soit aperçu ?
Lorsque nous restituons l'éponge et expliquons la situation, la réponse de la gérante m'a laissé sans voix : "ah, très bien" a-t-elle dit.
Le petit déjeuner est très bon, les produits sont de qualité et en suffisance. Nous recevons également un œuf cuit selon nos désirs.
Bref, il y a de très bonnes bases (locaux spacieux, propres et très bien décorés), une volonté de bien faire mais manifestement un manque d'expérience tant au niveau organisationnel (personne pour nous accueillir, erreur de chambre) que commercial (la réaction face au fait de laisser trainer qqc dans le lit qui n'a rien à y faire).
Je constate que les autres avis positif sont anciens et correspondent parfaitement à notre première expérience en décalage avec notre nouvelle visite.
Gageons que la nouvelle gérance voudra retrouver le même niveau qu'avant.
