Nostalgia and tranquility

In the historic Marienhof hotel, the rooms are different. Dark, old furniture, modern TV, modern bathroom, and toilet. Sauna and swimming pool in the basement, elevator in the building, but not fully accessible.
Great breakfast (including salmon and champagne), good cuisine, beautiful terrace for dining. Beautiful garden.
Friendly, competent staff.
Those who enjoy nostalgia and tranquility will feel very well taken care of here!
During the day, a free shuttle bus operates, but unfortunately, the service ends at 6 PM.

Nice experience

Location near park and Spar around 200 metres. Excellent breakfast. Very cool interiors. Staf was friendly. Rooms weren’t clean. There were spiderwebs and smelly carpet, but bed was comfortable. Decent noise cancellation, but if you get the room on the side of the main road, its bad. The value for the money’s is mid. I would appreciate better cleaning and reconstruction of the rooms on floor 3.

Retreat for discerning guests

That is what it says on the hotel's homepage and that is how it was during our fourth stay here (see most recently the review “Again very pleasant – but partly unusual” from July 2024). We are “discerning” because we wished for: perfect location in the center of Reichenau, a cozy room, good service, very good food (breakfast and this time also dinner twice), courteous treatment at the reception (was particularly necessary this time, as there were “technical problems” with the room reservation – were solved with difficulty, but very friendly and well!), free parking, a nice wellness area (we did not use it this time due to time constraints), a place to retreat in the very beautiful and quiet park, etc. – and the Marienhof offered all of that. Thus a good “retreat” for four performances at the festival (quite different, but all four absolutely worth seeing!), nice hikes in the dreamlike surroundings as well as with culinarily good offers in restaurants, pastry shops, cafés, etc.

A few little things would make it more perfect

A nice hotel without question but with annoying trivia. For example, we asked for double mattresses especially when ordering, as we can then get up more easily. None of it was visible on arrival. Then we called edben in the reception and there were also two strong gentlemen who came and fixed it. Why not before? Do no one care about the mails when booking?
Disturbing little things in the room: no shoe spoon, no stationery in the desk, just advertising slips for some companies. No small notepad, no sewing stuff.
Certainly nothing serious, but when you need it, it's annoying.
The absolute opposite in the house are breakfast and restaurant. At breakfast, thanks to the prudent Mrs. Vroni, no wish remains unfulfilled. The evening restaurant is excellent and the food, as well as the serving staff really good.

Class Old World Charm

Class experience! Old world charm. Large, comfortable room, with modern bathroom. Pool was fabulous! Dinner in restaurant outstanding! Breakfast top notch with omelette station, fresh pressed juice, a lot of choices of fruit, meats, and breads. All staff professional, kind, and accommodating.
