Top hotel for hiking and relaxing!

We stayed for a week at Granitzl and felt very comfortable!
In general, there are more than enough hikes within a 20min radius to reach from Mariapfarr than you can hike in a week. On the because there were mostly nice alpine huts with delicious snacks. The place Grabendorf is heavenly quiet. Within walking distance there is a farm with various animals.
Gastronomically, you are in very good hands in the hotel with half board. Peter cooks fish meat or vegetarian every night. There is also a salad buffet, soup and dessert.
The weekly alpine pasture party is a great excursion. The alpine huts can be hiked in 45 - 90 minutes. To eat there is meat and fresh alpine salmon from the grill. In addition to one or the other brandy, the way back is easier.

13 years of perfect service

As always in the last years, whenever we´ve been able to make it to Sandra & Peter, everyting was just fine. And if then also the weather contributes.... what can one want to be better? Unfortunately we could only stay three nights this time.... but will come back definitly.

Wonderful scenery, swimming pond & Spa for relaxation, well run place

Rooms in good shape, clean and well serviced.
Quite broad choice for the evening-menu always including a dish with locally sourced ingredients / local specialty. Attentive restaurant service.
Saunas and relaxation room with view into the garden.
Conditioned swimming pond!
Very friendly staff.

Perfect services, good food

Beautiful location of the hotel outside of Mariapfarr. If you wish for staying in the town itself then this is not your choice. It's 20-30 min walking distance from it. Very friendly staff. Hotel is mostly powered by solar panels. Great. Kitchen is fine, with fresh fish (unlike in other local hotels in the area the serve fish from the freezer). Excellent breakfast.
Good place for hiking. Ask/check specifically if the wellness facilities are 'on', otherwise not heated.
Very good infrared cabin.

We went back for more!

We felt in need of more relaxation, so went back for the last few days of their 'summer' season. It didn't disappoint in any way and we stayed in the same apartment, with beautiful views over the valley. We were welcomed back like old friends and soon relaxed into our peaceful surroundings.
We flew from Stansted to Klagenfurt, and returned from Graz. Both airports are within 2 hours of the hotel by hire car.
We'll be back soon, I'm sure!
