Warm Austrian Hospitality.

First stay at Hotel Tristkogel and I would definitely recommend & not hesitate in returning. The host Elfi & Alexander own a lovely friendly relaxing hotel, as others have mentioned with real Austrian hospitality, in a great location for skiing walking or mountain biking. The cleanliness of the hotel is a high standard with all staff working hard to maintain this.
The hotel is a short walk from the main street but being away from the noise & bustle is great. Loads of secure underground storage for skis and bikes.
I had a lovely room on the second floor with tables and chairs on a private balcony, with views of the mountains. The thick double glazing would keep the room warm in the winter months. The room was more than adequate with a great shower.
Elfi was fantastic in providing local knowledge to the guests, she never seem to stop working.
I would mention the breakfast display which I is one of the best I have ever seen, and had the pleasure of eating. Again a credit to Elfi & Alexander. The local honeycomb is on another level.
I booked directly with Elfi and again great communications and value for money for my six night stay.
One point to add is not only with the joker card do you get free uplifts , but the travel free to Salzburg by train worked a treat for me.

Small, cosy hotel with excellent staff.

From the minute we arrived at this cozy little hotel we were made to feel really welcome. Elfi treated us like members of the family.
Our room in the basement was neat and clean, was close to the sauna and the ski and boot room. It didn’t have view or balcony but we were only in it to sleep.
The buffet breakfast had an extensive range of foods, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, fruits, yoghurts and breads. Cooked eggs were made to order and there was cooked bacon.
We chose our evening meal from a meat or vegetarian dish at breakfast. This meal started with a selection of salads, meats, fish , eggs and breads followed by a soup course. After the main course was a desert and cheese board.
The bar served beers, wines and spirits, all at reasonable prices.
The inside and outside saunas were available from 3.00pm each day and were clean and hot. There was a massage room and Veronica was available to pummel aching muscles.(at a small charge).
The Westgipfelbahn lift was about 200metres away with the U-bahn lift and Kogel even closer. We were there towards the end of a poor snow season but still could ski to within 50 metres of the hotel.
I would have no hesitation to stay at the Tristkogel again.

Brilliant

Very friendly, clean, safe hotel. They went above and beyond to make sure we were well fed and looked after, you can tell it is the family’s pride and joy. The salad buffet before a three course meal every evening was wonderful on its own. The skiing in Hinterglemm-Saalbach was endless, great location, given half a chance we will be back!

We loved this hotel

Perfect location ski in/ski out, warm hostess and a fresh, cosy hotel. We had an excellent view from our room of the mountains and the slopes. We loved the breakfast, the hotel was always clean (even though people run in and out all the time) and the facilities to keep skies and boots was excellent. The children loved the free wifi and so did we. We would love to stay here again.

Welcoming place to stay

Small but adequate room with balcony and nice view. Cheerful hostess introduced to family.excellent meals. Summer vouchers given as part of stay so can use lifts,buses & other perks make this excellent place to stay.plenty walks & wonderful scenery around.
