Best experience in Gmunden

Altmünsterhof is a charming hotel featuring classic Austrian atmosphere and tradition. Already on arrival, you can feel the warm and authentic style that the hotel carries from the interior to the relaxed atmosphere. It feels genuine and unpretentious, making the stay both pleasant and memorable.
Breakfast is simple but well-functioning, exactly as it should be for a good start to the day.
A special thanks should be to Manuela at the reception, who made a big difference for the experience. She was incredibly present and delivered a top-class service from start to finish. Her accommodation and professionalism really put the dot over the i.
Overall a hotel that delivers an authentic Austrian experience with heartwarm and quality in the centre

Hotel with lake and federal road view

Very friendly staff, especially at reception.
Easy check in.
Usual hotel breakfast, but until 11am, which is fine on holiday.
House from the 60s - 70s, all very dark, but homely in the common areas.
Bathroom and toilet separate and newly adapted and both with window.
Bed linen very clean and a light blanket, but unfortunately only 2 children's pillows.
Stretch carpet in the room, which doesn't really give a clean impression anywhere.
Unfortunately, as a solo traveler you usually get a kind of broom cupboard.
So also here: Double bed, a dark closet, a TV on the wall.
No table, no chair, so you had to sit by the bed with the street clothes, which is very unhygienic.
Also no device whatsoever to be able to unpack the suitcase.
It was half an apartment from which the nicer room with balcony had been locked.
Yes, unlucky if you travel alone.....
The hotel is located on an extremely busy federal road.
Take Ohropax with you for breakfast on the terrace!
Sleeping possible only with the window closed.

Simple hotel

Positive was the friendly reception of the lady at the reception . That the house is located directly on the busy main road is clearly visible in advance. Terrace also directly on the road . "Deluxe room" small with carpets , cheap amenities, simple furnishings . Very small renovated bathroom . Breakfast okay no more and no less . For me, the price-performance ratio here unfortunately does not fit and I can not recommend the hotel .

Great hotel with excellent views

Stayed here for 1 night on a recent motorcycle tour. We arrived on 4 motorcycles and there is plenty of free parking. The hotel is close to the town centre and has lovely views over the lake. The staff are excellent, speak very good English, have a great sense of humour, and booked us a table at a restaurant they recommended as the hotel restaurant was not open. The rooms are very large, very well furnished and very comfortable. The breakfast is also very good. We will definitely stay here gain.

Nice view

When we arrived after 8 pm, the reception had already closed but deposited our keys in a drop box with code. This worked pretty well because they also wrote us a letter with instructions. We had rooms in different categories. The standard room is quite simple but with a good bathroom. The view to the lake was nice. The other room was spacious with garden view. They offer a decent breakfast for which the asset is that eggs in different styles are freshly made and served to the table. We also liked that enough parking facilities were available. All in all a good choice if you plan to stay in the lake area.
