Of its time .. but in a good way
My wife and I have stayed in a few establishments that have had their glory days. It's hard to maintain that standard. I have to say that Peppers Manor House is doing a pretty good job. Helped out by the fact that homely, comfortable and stately is not a bad start for a stay in the Southern Highlands, Pepers Manor House is all those things but also welcoming (apart from a slightly slow check-in) and hospitable. The grounds are lovely (if somewhat overtaken by rabbits currently) and of course the location close to the magic little towns of Moss Vale, Berrima, Bowral, Mittagong and Burradoo makes it the perfect 'home base' for a 5-7 day stay.

We had booked a king room for two nights. Unfortunately it did not suit us and the wonderful Susie moved us to the garden wing which was excellent. King bed was so comfortable and a big bathroom. Large screen TV and the room was huge. Our first night was up the short driveway to the cabin like rooms. So strongly recommend the garden wing which is closer to the restaurant and the grand hall with the open fireplace. There is another guest lounge with open fireplace which was so cozy. Breakfast was excellent with good variety. We ate dinner in Katers restaurant and the food was excellent. All the staff were very efficient and friendly. Would definitely stay again but in the garden wing.

Really lovely grounds with communal areas to sit around fire places.
Sadly I had a very noisy room what sounded like it was above the back of house staff area so my first night had alot of noise travel into the room but it was quiet the second night.
Very cold area and I stayed on a freezing night but thankful for the radiator heaters aswell as wall mounted heaters (only worked after filters cleaned)

Was a little disappointed that our room was not part of the lodge it was separate. Would’ve been good for Hotels.com to have that noted when we booked only because I wanted the heritage part of the building but didn’t get that experience was up very high on a hill and needed to use the car to get down to breakfast. Breakfast was unusual. The staff didn’t seem to know what was on the menu when I asked if it came with toast they didn’t know and didn’t even attempt to try and ask. There was no direction as to help yourself to tea or coffee etc.

We just had a great and relaxing long weekend at Peppers Manor House. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable and are bathrooms excellent.
We dined at Katers Restaurant. The menu choices and food were very good.
My only suggestions are to: 1. Up the breakfast options, including having a person to make coffees and 2. Keep up with the ongoing maintenance, such as refreshing some tired decor and paintwork in the fireplace room.
