Lots of shops and good coffee places nearby. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful

Most horrible experience ever
This was probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed anywhere. First, the room was on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. I had to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and carry all my luggages by hand, one a very small staircase to the 4th floor. It felt like im going up in the attic.
The room, looks good just in the picture. Just the bed matches the advertised pictures, nothing else. Please look at my attached pictures. However, the room was the size of the bed. No space to put your luggage. I had to put the chairs on top of each other to free up some space, and we had just 2 carryons. Furthermore, rusty rubbish bin. The shower was extremely small. You couldn't walk freely into it, you had to turn with one side first, and im an average guy (5.11 tall and 180lb weight, or 180cm and 80kg). I hit my head multiple times when setting on the toilet, because it was so close to the front wall, and had to go to the toilet with an open door because the door wouldn't close because the was no room if you are inside. Again, see the pictures. Furthermore, that sink was down to me knees, and it was so small that when washing your face, most of the water will fall down, so it would wash your feet at the same time. Finally, most of the tile in the shower was cracked, and it cut my feet. The room service consisted just of changing the bed sheets and towels, nothing else: so the toilet wasn't cleaned for 6 days, no vacuuming or anything else. All towels were white at some point, definitely very long ago, but now they all looked very gray and used. The hotel looks good from the fron, but once you get inside is extremely old, paint falling down, bring door handles. It is extremely old and outdated. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend this even to my enemies.

A cute hotel, close to city centre and harbour
The hotel is beautiful and clean, the rooms have a suitable size. It is just a few steps from grocery stores, restaurants, cafès, bakeries and a train station (Kings Cross) that brings you quickly into the city centre, to china town, and to all the sights (harbour, opera, botanic garden). We would totally recommend.
Just be aware that the reception does close at 5pm, so better contact the hotel in advance for a later check in.

The positive: Staff was EXCELLENT! They made sure to help however they could.
Bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. Water pressure was excellent.
Hotel is going under renovations and this is not mentioned on Hotels.com.
Originally we had a room with a double bed but the AC was not working so we were upgraded to a much larger room, the only caveat was that we could only reach that room by very narrow stairs (which were typical from the Victoria era) I have no idea who decorated or arranged this room, but they did not have the guest comfort in mind. The bed was placed very close to the bathroom and wall leaving little space to move around it but also leaving a huge open space in the room that furniture could had been arranged differently. The bathroom was extremely small with the toilette being right at the entrance and no room to move.
There were cob webs on the lamps and ceiling. Dust bunnies everywhere. It seems that the cleaning is just done were the people can see immediately.
The area has lots of bars and places to eat plus a small market right in front of the hotel. The Kings Cross subway station is within a short walking distance only 2 stops away from city center.
I think once renovations are done this will be an excellent place to stay. Regardless of the negatives we did enjoy our stay here.

Our little getaway at No. 9 Springfield
We loved our little getaway in No. 9 Springfield. Our room was immaculate and the bed was a dream. The location was great too in beautiful Potts Point.
