Super Stay at Shannon Motor Inn
The rooms are your traditional motor inns from the 80s with the brick walls. Still the beds are comfortable, the showers have hot water, complimentary coffee/ tea and full functioning TV
You're in the residential part of Geelong, so you'll find a supermarket, pub, restaurant, service station, take aways and a primary school all within the area. So not really tourist part of Geelong but very practical.
Very safe. The road outside is busy during the day so be very careful.
If you like walking, it is very flat. You can walk to nearby restaurants, pubs and cafes
Complimentary coffee and tea in the room. Petrol station has convenience food as well as machine brewed coffee.
Fish and Chips, Pizza, Asian restaurants are nearby as well as a Supermarket, should you need to stock up if you're travelling further on the Bellarine Peninsula or Surf Coast
Tony at Reception is very friendly. There is overflow traffic next door just in case the car park is full.

Basic Motel did the job and is cheap.
Really tired decor and furniture, super old TV with remote sticky taped together, plastic shower curtain etc. Thats the sort of thing I mean.
Opposite wooolworths, next to a good pub and shannon ave is very central.

Arrived 10minutes late, so we got fined 30$ for late coming. So unbelievable. We have stayed in so many accommodations in Victoria , this is the first motel to fine for late check in.
The amenities are old but neat. However, The blankets and sheets are harsh. It’s irritating and causes rashes on my skin.

Almost perfect
Mum and I stayed in the family room, so we could sleep in different rooms. There's a separate bedroom with two singles and a TV, then a double (maybe queen) and a single in the main room with the kitchenette and TV and chairs and small round table. Bathroom and toilet are separate which is good and makes sense as often could be 3 or 4 people.
Room has been fully serviced every day so far (3 nights/days into 5 night stay). Beds made, so probably sheets changed, towels, tea towel, etc removed and replaced. Even clean cups and glasses. Basically as if it's going to be new customers in the room every day. It's almost unnecessary too much, even though it's nice. Even the partially used shampoo seems to be removed which is a waste. On the other hand it means the teabags are topped up every day and there's a couple more biscuits every day.
We thought there would be more traffic noise as it's quite close to a busy intersection heading west out of city centre, but no issue. Because of proximity to the intersection traffic and Woolworths entry/exit across the road, coming from city centre it's easier to approach the motel by driving further west on Aberdeen, left into Minerva Rd, left into Upper Skeen St, and at the end left again into Shannon Ave where the motel is now on the left hand side.
As well as Woolworths there's a classic Aussie sort of hotel (of the food and drink kind) on one corner, fuel on another corner, and restaurant & more across on the other corner.
Kitchenette area has 4 hotplates, microwave, fridge, and usual other stuff in a small cupboard. No oven but we wouldn't expect an oven. Other side of room is a sink with benchspace, crockery and cutlery underneath.
The only real downside is the room is quite dark without lighting on, even with curtains and door open on a nice day. Because of it being right in the back corner of the building and minimal window space as a result. The interior lights are also not powerful (which can be a good thing) so you'll probably find yourself turning all the lights on that you can find.
