Sheer Excellence

My partner and I stayed here for an event nearby. It was a bit on an indulgence to be honest. The whole experience was superb. The staff were so friendly, attentive, constantly concerned about our needs. The room is an absolute marvel with plenty of room for suitcases, a large extremely comfortable bed, and a large bathroom. An example of the considerate design in the room is that aforementioned bathroom. One person using the shower doesn't stop your partner from using the toilet as the latter is a separate room with its own door placed right next to the former. Most rooms have the toilet and shower sharing the one space. Instead, it is separate but overall, it takes up a similar space to a combined room. Simple but clever. We have stayed in a lot of hotels all around the world and this place is by far the best. Very, very highly recommended.

hard to top

delightful staff, beautiful tasteful rooms and a brilliant location made for a short but perfect stay. the gym was a bonus and I loved the discounts at so many local stores for Friends of the Calile. Brilliant location for shopping, dining and easy transport

Beautiful Hotel with incredible staff

Our stay with Calile was amazing - the staff, food, service and accommodation were second to none. Extremely happy with our experience and will be back again in future!

Stylish on the surface, but ultimately pretentious and disappointing

We recently stayed at The Calile and, unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the reputation or the price tag. The hotel presents beautifully online, but once you’re there, the atmosphere feels more manufactured than genuine — polished on the outside, but lacking warmth, authenticity, and any real sense of hospitality.
The overall vibe is quite pretentious, and everything seems designed more for appearances than guest comfort. It felt like a hotel geared towards corporate travellers or people on company accounts rather than everyday guests who are actually paying their own way.
The on‑site Greek restaurant, Hellenika, was another disappointment. It’s highly rated, but in my experience, it was overrated and seriously overpriced. The maître d’ appeared to lavish attention on certain guests who clearly spend a lot of money there, while others received noticeably less care. It creates an uncomfortable imbalance and doesn’t match the inclusive service you’d expect at this price point.
Brisbane has many excellent hotels and restaurants that offer genuine hospitality, atmosphere, and value. Based on my stay, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
