Top hotel in the Harz, also ideal for bus groups

After 2 private stays so far, we were now guests at the Burghotel with a 35-person bus tour group. All participants loved this accommodation.

Inexpensive price but not worth it.

We were tempted by the low price to book in this huge hotel.
Yes, the rooms are modern; we booked the more expensive room because of the balcony. However, you can safely forget about the balcony overlooking the courtyard with the utility building.
Do you want relaxed meals and pleasant conversations with your partner? Here in the dining hall, which is a mix of cafeteria and train station pub, the hot battle at the lukewarm buffet rages on, and the noise level is immense.
The food selection at the buffet is more than uninspired. Especially the vegetarian options.
The staff is friendly, but due to the mass processing, they are sometimes overwhelmed.
Now we need some relaxation at home after the vacation.

Mass instead of class

There were three of us in family at the hotel. It is a large hotel with the design - theme "castle". The reception was not very warm but rather correctly objective. You didn't feel particularly welcome as a guest. Probably the emphasis is on "mass" instead of "class". The room overlooking the ventilation system was large enough for 2 adults plus 1 child. Clear plus is the fridge in the room with free drinks. The food in the restaurant has "canteens" quality - no restaurant - quality. Clear plus: Drinks such as beer and table wine and soft drinks are included. Example of breakfast: as a birthday guest you get a Piccolo sparkling wine. Unfortunately, however, there are no champagne glasses on the table. At the buffets it sometimes takes time for refills.
So: for families with small children, the hotel is great, otherwise you have to be aware of being just one guest among hundreds.

Can only recommend, Especially for large families, whether retired or children.

Just a successful family trip. Great hotel, nice rooms, great food, delicious breakfast ... there was almost nothing to complain about. Customer requests were also specifically addressed. Also in 20 people were all treated equally well.

Breakfast buffet creepy- ambience not available

Certainly interesting for families with children if the demands are not too high.
The dining room has the charm of a canteen that offered breakfast buffet has the charm of a very bad canteen.
We were also amazed by the narrow beds with visitor crevice and crackling fitted sheet.
The view from the 8. Stock was nice.
The gym was fine except for the treadmills.
Despite paid late check out you get even though the red sign outside the door hangs visitor from the room service and is from 12.00h in front of closed door.
