The guest is the king

We spent 3 nights here including half board. The hotel is in a very quiet location. The room was very clean, the bed was fine and the food was plentiful, varied and very tasty. All of the staff were very friendly, always helpful and fulfilled all of our wishes.

Not recommended

Nothing left of the once great hotel. Time seems to have stopped in the rooms. Not very clean, pleats were broken, TV only worked with interference. Breakfast the next morning was quite mediocre, scrambled eggs cold and dry, rolls half baked and the tea water was cold. Those who came a little later had to be satisfied with the rest, nothing was added.

Was better already

Well,
we've stayed at the hotel several times in the past few years.
Our request for e-charging stations was answered positively. The “charging station” turned out to be a construction power box, there was no adapter. Other assistance: none. A poor Service.
The reception at the reception: cool.
The pool: full of seaweed on the walls.
Bright spots: good food

Definitely not recommended

The elevator was broken, so we put everything in the 3rd floor. floor (one floor two landings) had to drag. No help was offered. The panoramic bar was also not in operation. The room was not cheap, but quite used to it: broken lamp by the bed, rejected furniture, broken shelf in the bathroom, no kettle or coffee machine. And unfortunately it wasn't very well cleaned either. The breakfast buffet unkind and 08/15, dry scrambled eggs, super cheap tea, no nice fruit platter ... all kind of cheap and unkempt.
Service - what Service (see above)? As a greeting we were immediately told not to sit down as a couple at the slightly larger table (it was almost empty in the restaurant, we just wanted to drink a coffee, which we gave up on post).
Sorry, no charm, no Service.
Location and view nice. Otherwise - see above
We wouldn't stay here again.

Special hotel, great food, basic rooms

As soon as you arrive you see that it is a special hotel. An old industrial port building has been converted into a hotel. The rooms are simple and not large. This also applies to the bathroom. Each room has a balcony overlooking the harbour and the Elbe. Prima bed.
We had half Pension and in the nice restaurant in the shape of a harbor with a ship we ate delicious.
Breakfast was on the top floor in the Panorama Restaurant with beautiful views of the river landscape. Breakfast was not super extensive with sufficient.
In Dömitz itself there is not much to do, but during our walk we came across many things that recall the Iron Curtain and the suffering was there. The Elbe Railway Bridge is a silent witness. The GDR blew it up to prevent me from going to the free West, in the former West Germany the bridge still stands as a monument.
We only stayed one night, but this hotel is definitely recommended. Also for cycling and walking.
