A good hotel & location
I stayed here as a base to explore the 1945 battlefields. Waldhotel Seelow is a good basic hotel, not fancy or 4-star but clean and functional with a pleasant staff. My room was very quiet with a view toward the woods. The bed was comfortable and the amenities fine. As others have noted, the bathroom could use some updating but it worked fine even if a little cramped. No real negatives to my stay here, and I will do so again

Great Place To Stay
I chose to stay at this hotel because of its location in respect of my driving tour of Germany and the fact that I was interested in visiting the Seelow Heights battle field of the second world war.
The hotel is quite out of the way but easy enough to find.
I had a single room which was basic but did the job, comfortable bed but in fairness the bathroom does need an upgrade but again it did the job and for the price of the room I cant complain.
The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were all friendly and helpful, easy parking outside.
I had two dinners at the hotel and the food was well cooked and presented, beer also very good. Breakfast was basic but adequate, all in all good value for money, I would stay at this hotel again if I was in that area. There is not a lot of choice for restaurants in the locality but the menu at the hotel is very good so no need to travel. They have a sauna which I didn't try but it was a nice option to have.

Hidden Gem!!!
I cannot believe there have been no more reviews since I last wrote, last year!!!
We came back again this year and there were more in our party, (30) without one complaint from anybody! That speaks volumes in itself. This hotel has been here twenty one years since the owners started it, and this year being an even better experience than last year.
The owners continual re-investment and friendly considerate staff do this place justice, it's a hidden gem in the forest,
Great food, good beer, clean comfortable rooms, great value. Thanks! Keep up the good work, hope to see you next year.

Dont judge a book by its cover
Arriving on a dark wet October night,following the satnav to this place others had booked on our behalf, , we wondered what we were driving into! The hotel is situated in a quiet corner of an old E.German military camp, tastefully converted from the former medical block. With many bright,clean, well appointed, "Travel Lodge" style rooms. The staff having very little English, were extremely helpful and the Chef prepared some excellent food at short notice. The following morning we met the owner who had very good English, and was very welcoming. Over our five night stay in this beautiful quiet area of Germany, our German and their English improved over many excellent beers and great food. The rest of the old camp is converted to an industrial park now, but at no time were we disturbed by any outside noise and the hotel parking seemed very safe surrounded by established trees. The area is scenically beautiful with much wildlife, and being so close to the Polish border has a rich history of many past conflicts. The nearby village of Seelow has all the amenities a traveller may need, and we will be staying here next year upon our return. If anyone is happy to return visit it demonstrates it was good, just dont be put off by its surroundings, it really was good!

Super freundlich, gutes Frühstück - aber auch Mängel
Wir waren für eine Nacht im Waldhotel.
Das Hotel liegt etwas "ab vom Schuss" - aber dafür natürlich auch schön ruhig.
Das Personal ist durchweg total freundlich und auch das Frühstück war toll. Hier verstehe ich die Bewertungen nicht, die das Frühstück so schlecht bewerten. Ich habe hier nichts zu beanstanden.
Wlan und TV haben super funktioniert.
Die in der Überschrift erwähnten Mängel beziehen sich auf das Zimmer:
Leider haben wir einen Tag erwischt, an dem es extrem im Bad gestunken hat. Das scheint ein Problem zu sein, das das Hotel kennt und zu bekämpfen versucht. Als Gast natürlich ungünstig. Aber dafür kann an der Stelle das Hotel nichts. Das liegt am Kläranlagen-System. Außerdem war das Bad zusätzlich ziemlich klein.
Stellenweise sieht das Hotel auch nicht sehr einladend und in die Jahre gekommen aus.
Wir sind aber nicht mit einem negativen Gefühl gegangen. Hier merkt man, was Gastfreundschaft ausmacht.
