Good Value - Friendly Service

Good value for the money and friendly service. No air conditioning, but fan in room and on shady side of street; so comfortable to sleep on lower floors. Can have a balcony in the room or use the balcony by the bar. Guaranteed, reasonably priced car parking a plus. Room on street not noisy or try the courtyard rooms.

Descent with investment backlog

The hotel is located on a four-lane main road. Everything in Schöneberg is easy to reach from there. The subway and bus (right outside the door) stop in the immediate vicinity.
My room was on the 3rd floor of the old building facing the street. The street noise was constantly present even with the windows closed. The elevator has obviously been broken for a long time. The information signs on each floor are laminated. The floors in the stairwell and in the room are clearly giving way in some places. The room's furnishings, especially the bathroom, are no longer up to date. Another example is the WiFi solution, which repeatedly requires the user name and password to be entered for an open network.
A breakfast buffet was not offered due to a lack of staff. However, there was no information about this before arrival that would have allowed us to prepare for it.
All in all, this accommodation needs investment quickly. Until this happens, I will not set foot in this dump again and strongly advise everyone against it. I would rather use AirBnB.

Friendly staff but outdated facilities

I have nothing bad to stay abot the staff who was helpful and the place was very clean BUT the facilities such as the furniture were looking as if from the 90s. Wifi was on and off constantly. My room was on the second floor and as the hotel is next to a quite busy road- it was very noisy (ambulance cars at night). It was hard to sleep. They do provide earplugs however :) I would not stay there again.

Quaint hotel,good value, nice staff

Hotel Schoeneberg was ideal for us on our visit to see our daughter who lives nearby. We could not have been happier with location for us as we like traveling and nearby S- Bahn a short walk to Julius- Leiber Bruker Station and buses right outside give ideal access to all city centre locations and trip to and from airport at Schonefeld relatively easy especially as we had pre-purchaed a five day Berlin Welcome card for 36.90 Euros a must for the adventurous and a huge cost saver on a range of attractions,Hotel has lots of info on various trips and sites in the reception.
Rooms large and well equipped just a bit dated but lovely with it.Internet & TV all good,small bar limited choice of beer and wine. Breakfasts excellent with a good choice for all tastes.
Great choice of restaurants nearby, several types of cuisine, Mexican, Vietnamese, Nepalese,Italian, Indian, and more.Generally a nice area, we had some fantastic food and great value all round.
When we visit again for a city trip we would definitely consider coming back to Hotel Schoeneberg.

Don’t let looks deceive

The Hotel Schoenberg could surprise you. It is, at best, a 3 star hotel worth a 3 star rating, but I’ll give it 4 stars for exceeding expectations. It’s an older building on a busy street in a middle class largely residential neighborhood in the west, at some distance from top tourist sites ( but the city hall, or Rathaus, where JFK gave his famous speech, is just a few blocks away and worth a visit). Entrance is nondescript and reception is up a flight of stairs. The elevator maybe fits 2 people. But our room on the 3rd floor was lovely...high ceilings, older details, large windows....a comfortable double bed...minibar and fridge...coffee and tea...large vintage wardrobe...even a pants presser. Though we faced the busy street we could hardly hear the noise even with windows open— and just in case, the hotel supplied earplugs. The bathroom was reasonably contemporary and updated. The only drawback was the large step in tub and hand held shower arrangement. There were not enough secure hand holds to step in and out safely. The tub itself made for a very deep bath. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was fine, and most of all, th3 price is right. The s-bahn stop is a few minutes walk and just a few stops to Friederichstrasse, which will put you in the center of many things. So if you want to be a bit adventuresome, see a different neighborhood ( lots of shops and restaurants of various types), and save some money, this could be the place for you.
