Awesome Place to Stay

Everything was great, the cabana was very comfy, super cute and located in a perfect spot to enjoy the town of Khao Sok. The staff were very friendly as well! Overall we had a great stay, enjoyed the pool area and the little monkeys running around the resort

Good for a one night stay

Really friendly and helpful staff, with the accommodation located a short walk to the main strip. Basic amenities and a nice layout of the resort. The gaps between doors were a bit too large for our liking, meaning in the first 5 minutes we had 2 sizeable cockroaches and lizards sharing a room with us. Staff were helpful to remove these.

200 EUR STOLEN OUT OF ROOM BY STAFF

My partner and I stayed at Khao Sok Cabana Resort for three nights. Upon arrival, everything seemed positive. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff initially appeared friendly and professional.
On our third day, we had a half day excursion booked to Cheow Lan Lake. We are experienced travelers and are very careful with valuables. Because the excursion involved a longtail boat ride, kayaking, and swimming, we deliberately chose to leave all valuables hidden inside our room, placed between our clothing and not in plain sight. We also displayed the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.
That morning, we were informed by staff that there would be a power cut from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. In good trust, we informed the staff that we would be out for the day so they would not have to worry about the inconvenience caused by the power cut.
We left around 1 in the afternoon and returned to the resort at approximately 7 in the evening. When preparing to go out for dinner, I retrieved our money belt. Inside had been 8,000 Thai baht, entirely in 1,000 baht notes. To my shock, every single 1,000 baht note had been replaced with 100 baht notes, clearly done to avoid immediate detection. In total, around 7,000 baht was missing, with only 1,000 baht left behind as part of this attempted cover up.
We calmly reported the issue to the reception staff that evening. The staff member on duty appeared genuinely surprised and concerned. I asked whether it was possible to review CCTV footage, especially since there is a camera directly facing our room and we had the Do Not Disturb sign displayed. At that point, it became clear that the combination of a scheduled power cut and our absence created an opportunity for someone to enter the room unnoticed. Without concrete proof, we chose not to involve the police. Instead, we requested to speak with the manager, hoping for a responsible and professional response, such as partial compensation or at least a serious investigation.
Unfortunately, the response from management was deeply disappointing. During the phone conversation, the manager repeatedly dismissed the situation and simply stated that if a Do Not Disturb sign was displayed, nobody would enter the room, completely missing the point and offering no empathy, accountability, or attempt to investigate.
We are fully aware that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and we did not accuse any specific individual. However, the lack of concern, responsibility, and professionalism shown by management left us feeling unsafe and unheard. Had the situation been handled with transparency and empathy, this review would likely never have been written.
Travelers deserve to feel secure in their accommodation. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. Stay safe.

The best staff

Honestly the most kindest thoughtful welcoming staff that I have met. On our arrival we obviously looked hot and were immediately given a cold bottle of water. Shown to our twin room which was lovely. We only booked one night and then the hotel arranged our trip to the lake, stored our luggage and despite being fully booked found us a space for another night on our return. Again we were welcomed with smiles and a bottle of cold water. Yes the second room was small but it was cheap and still had a good night sleep. Just be warned the walls are thin so if you are in one of the joined up rooms and not a stand alone bungalow if you get noisy neighbours you will hear everything. This isn't a 5* resort it is basic but The staff genuinely make this place perfect. The swimming pool area is also lovely and in the morning you will be welcomed by the monkeys

Beautiful resort in the green near the village and with super staff

+ super friendly helpful staff, neat clean spacious houses, beautiful jungle setting with the occasional monkey visiting, quietly located on the edge of the village (walking distance). Near shop. Resort has information about tours (via operator Jungle Hut tours and that was well organized. And you can store your luggage at the resort when you go on tour). There is a lovely swimming pool. There is a shuttle car from the hotel. Recommended!
